Today I have feelings about Jason and his family. Let me ramble about them and how he is the only one who remembers them.
They lived in the "ghetto" of Gotham. Jasons and Dannys mother died of an overdose and their father tried to get money for the family. There weren't many jobs in this neighbourhood. So he started to work for Two-Face as a thug and then his boss killed him. Sounds like lives in the Crime Alley.
Maybe some people cared about the two boys but the friends of their parents and their neighbours also struggled to survive. So who could care about them? Not even teenagers but left alone in the world.
Danny and Jason knew that the CPS can't find them. Everyone knew what happens with children in orphanages. So they ran. They started to live on the street. They learned to survive.
Except Danny wanted a better life for his brother. More food and better clothes. So he tried to join a gang. It was an accident but a family of 4 was now only a young child.
He was left alone. Alone an the street and alone with his thoughts.
Who paid to bury his brother?
Who paid to bury his parents?
Did the neighbours and their friends still remember them?
Was Jason now the only person who remembers Catherine, Willis and Danny Todd? Was it so easy to erase 3 lives?
As Jason returns to life and to Gotham he can't resist to visit his grave.
It isn't in the graveyard of the Waynes. The only words on the tombstone are "Here lies Jason Todd". Every connection to the Wayne is erased. Jason Peter Todd-Wayne is now again the child from the Crime Alley.
Jason remembers his real mother who couldn't stand the pain of the world but she never stopped loving him and Danny.
He remembers his father who was a thug but he only did it to get money for his family.
He remembers Danny who was only few years older but still tried to guard Jason against the hard life on the streets.
He looks at his tombstone and realizes that he never needed the Waynes. They didn't want him and that is okay.
He already had a family who loved him. He doesn't care that they had problems. That they struggled with addictions and were involved in crimes. They were Todds who cared and loved for each other and he will never forget his.
They lived normal lifes in Crime Alley. But he will do everything to make better lifes in his neighbourhood. He will help people with addictions, people who needs jobs and young children who want a better life.
In the names of his family he will make Crime Alley a better place. People will remember his family.
Who needs Bruce Wayne or Batman when his real family already teached him everything that he need to know?
He is Jason Todd and he will change Gotham for his family. The Todds lived snd died in Crime Alley and people will never forget this.
