Hi there, I'm a lunarian and I have some questions to ask regarding gender stuff. So it's been 2014 since I started identifying as a demigirl but honestly, i feel like the definitions don't accurately define my actual gender? So after using the label for a while it helped me evolve expressing and understanding myself better so i can't exactly let it go. I've had my own way of describing that gender for me which is feeling a partial connection to the concept of femalehood (part 1)
But I hate being gendered as a girl, woman, female PERIOD. In fact, the word woman to me in terms of my own gender feels far too strongly to identify with. I hate being referred to as woman aligned because I can't relate to womanhood. Girl and femalehood are concepts I can grasp on better terms with... if that makes any sense. For a few years now I've been using androgyne demigirl to balance out my feelings on this. I don't feel like half of a girl but rather half of the idea of that (part 2)
How I describe it is like my outer layer is androgynous and my core center is that. However, theres a list that I've seen you post of several different genders that go over this. Femandrogyne, perigirl, juxera, greygirl, vocigirl, aliusgirl, ceterogirl, femgender and nonpuella. I also like xirl better than nonbinary girl because it doesnt have the word girl in it and provides the illusion that looks like it says it but its another word of its own (like birl) So this really conflicts me (part 3)
I never thought that I could resonate with so many different genders, it really bothers me. Could I possibly be polygender? Because this is honestly so overwhelming but because they all got something in common with each other, I just don't know. I've always known that I was multigender but bigender couldn't cut it. I'm sorry this is so complicated to discuss but I just need some advice on this I feel like this is pretty extreme. (end)
There are a lot of these terms that mean very similar things, so it’s definitely possible to have one gender that could be described in a lot of different ways, and picking one label or set of labels to use is often just personal preference. Probably about half the time when I find a new gender to talk about on this blog I go “oh hey that could describe me!” So identifying with a lot of similar terms doesn’t necessarily mean you’re polygender.
However, you said that you do know you’re multigender, and not just bigender, so based on that it sounds likely that you might be some form of polygender!
I hope I don’t add to your confusion by suggesting yet another label, but you might be interested in collgender, which is a polygender identity where one experiences too many genders to be able to describe them all.
