Although this scrapped concept was for Sage, the blending of jester/master of knowledge motifs feels like a whole other evolution. Finalized identity. The earliest iteration of Fantasy Worlds Collide exists as a distant, almost unrecognizable echo within a massive half-million-word ecosystem. In 1997, the project did not exist as a sprawling, multi-arc tapestry of interconnected mythologies. It was a singular, laser-focused narrative thread born from the raw emotional impact of Final Fantasy VII and an escapism from abuse.
At its spark, the story centered on Bianca Moore. She was strictly human, a Shinra scientist operating within the high-tech, cold corridors of Midgar. Her narrative purpose was modest and specific: to serve as a ground-level witness to the tragedy of Sephiroth’s descent. She was a foil, an observer whose presence highlighted the immense, horrifying weight of a hero’s fall from grace and he killed her with no rebirth. There were no dimensional shifts, no demonic hierarchies, and no complex temporal mechanics. The initial spark was simply a quiet, human perspective pinned against the backdrop of a grand, apocalyptic tragedy.
Comparing that first thought to the current reality reveals a total shift in both scale and philosophy. The modern Bianca Moore is no longer a bystander or a mere scientist recording someone else’s downfall. She has evolved into a central nexus: an experimental subject in the Final Fantasy VII and original content sphere, a fallen angel locked in an eternal rebellion against the depths of Hell and Heaven, and a master of time and space. The current work does not merely resemble the spark. It has swallowed the spark whole, digested it, and built a vast, multifaceted cosmos around its core.
The Commercial Pivot: Trend-Chasing and Deep Theology
The first major evolution occurred when the drive to become a published author transformed the writing process. Writing ceased to be solely an internal sanctuary and became a pursuit of marketability. During an era dominated by urban fantasy, high-stakes paranormal romance, and television phenomena like Supernatural, the focus shifted toward original content tailored for commercial appeal.
This phase fractured the creative process into multiple, highly ambitious works-in-progress. A vast original universe was established, anchored by an intricate conflict between Angels and Demons. The narrative branched systematically:
The Kayla Branch: Designed to tackle apocalyptic lore, cosmic prophecy, and the heavy themes of Revelations.
The Original Bianca Rossi Branch: Reconfigured as an original paranormal narrative featuring a vampiric heroine rebelling against the tyrannical order of Hell.
This was not a simple, surface-level trend-chasing exercise. It was backed by rigorous, exhaustive research. The process involved dissecting Dante’s Inferno, consulting with theologians, analyzing academic papers on angelology and demonology, and interviewing religious figures within my community to establish an authentic, heavy, and immersive world.
Yet, as the lore expanded, the original spark began to scatter across separate files and distinct genres. Bianca was simultaneously an original vampire rebel, an experimental subject in Gaia, and—for a time—a human time-traveler navigating feudal Japan alongside Sesshomaru in the Inuyasha universe. The writing was intense, highly structured, and demanding, driven by the pressure to polish these distinct branches into market-ready properties.
The Turning Point: A Health Crisis and the Collapse of Worlds
The most significant turning point of the entire project—and the moment Fantasy Worlds Collide was truly born—was not a creative epiphany, but a severe medical boundary.
A diagnosis of tachycardia, coupled with a history of silent heart attacks and dangerously high blood pressure, brought an abrupt halt to the commercial trajectory. The medical imperative was absolute: step away from the high-stress pressure cooker of commercial publishing, or face a potentially fatal cardiac event. Stress had to be reduced to absolute zero. It still has too. This is why my medical mandate is here for my Tumblr.
This created a deep existential crisis. The drive to write, archive, and construct worlds is fundamental to a scribe’s identity. It is an instinct deeply embedded in the bone. Quitting writing entirely was impossible, but continuing under the stress of market expectations was life-threatening. Abandoning years of intensive theological research, complex character arcs, and worldbuilding felt like an unacceptable loss of effort and purpose.
The solution was a radical act of narrative consolidation: The Great Smoosh. That's what I like to call this period of my creative life.
Evolution and Simplification: Refining the Nexus
Once the collision occurred, the project began to naturally shed unnecessary weight while retaining its core strengths. The living narrative required equilibrium—a balance between massive scope and sustainable, low-stress writing.
The Inuyasha narrative arc was eventually written out entirely, as its thematic tone no longer fit the broader trajectory of the combined universe. However, the mechanical foundation of that arc was preserved. The time-traveling dynamics that Bianca utilized in feudal Japan were abstracted and transformed into her permanent time-and-space manipulation abilities. Nothing was truly lost. It was simply refined into a more versatile tool for the larger lore. This is what we as writers do: refinement.
The Modern Reality: A 500,000-Word Sanctuary
Today, sitting at 500,000 words in a Scrivener file that does not count the reams of notebooks full of Bianca's original journey in storage, Fantasy Worlds Collide bears virtually no physical resemblance to the modest 1997 fanfiction draft about a human scientist in Midgar. It is no longer a simple fan project, nor is it bound by traditional genre limits. Instead, FWC has evolved into a massive, highly structured Apocalyptic Mythpunk saga: a complex web of original lore, dark epic fantasy, biopunk science fantasy, and eschatological horror where reimagined canon serves as living myth.
In this universe, Final Fantasy VII isn't the origin point or a rigid frame. It is a vital, mythic incursion within a much broader original cosmos. Sephiroth, Shinra, and Jenova are recontextualized as divine archetypes, operating alongside original figures like Bianca Moore, Kayla, Lucifer, and Michael to tell a sprawling, multi-era epic.

Pandemonix (Earth Arc): Urban Fantasy / Religious Horror: Bianca lives as a hidden divine being among humans in an entirely original setting, long before the collision of worlds. Kayla's own arc runs through here, preserving the Revelations plot.
Shinra / FFVII Arc: Biopunk Science Fantasy / Dark Fantasy: Integrated canon where Sephiroth and Shinra assume their cosmological roles within Bianca's expanding lore.
Kilonova Crisis: Biblical Horror / Divine Tragedy / Mythopunk: The absolute heart of the conflict. Encompassing Revelation, the deaths of Lucrecia and Genesis, the fall of the Creator, and the ultimate rebirth of Creation itself through a Kilonova.
Godling Arcs: Mythpunk / Dark Epic: Focused on the subjugation of Jenova, the fierce rebellion against Sephiroth’s brutal training of the twins, the establishment of the Tri-Rule, and the birth of Aurora and Lucien.
Yet, beneath the layers of fallen angel, divine rebellions, and cosmic apocalyptic forces, the emotional DNA of the original spark remains unbroken. Bianca Moore is still, at her core, a figure standing at the intersection of grand, tragic forces. But instead of existing merely to highlight the downfall of others, she possesses the lore, authority, and history to navigate those cosmic tragedies on her own terms.
Fantasy Worlds Collide has evolved from a quiet story of tragedy into an essential, zero-stress creative sanctuary. It stands as definitive proof that when life forces a dramatic pivot, the stories we carry do not have to be abandoned. They can be rebuilt, merged, and elevated into a breathtaking mythos: a testament to gods born of trauma, love, and world-ending choice.
