while shadow milk is in a self fulfilling cycle about the nature of cookiekind that is perpetuated by his own actions AND cookiekind, pure vanilla is a weirder case in that he just decided it was a fact at some point that cookiekind is fundamentally good. he made bad choices based on this idea (ex. every time he's pleaded with dark enchantress, his inability to understand shadow milk or white lily's own issues with selfworth and the world), which further forced him to dig his heels in on this idea to lessen the guilt he felt. It is technically a circle, sure, but it's one pushed forward by only pure vanilla, without the influence of others. interesting, amirite?

The fount of Knowledge being a grumpy sort from day one immediately reminded me of young white lily being so snippy when she first met Pure vanilla

ough been trying to work on this drawing for three days now..
White Lily Cookie is like Fount of Knowledge and Salt of Solidarity's lovechild.
She has Fount's mind and obsession with understanding the world, and the alienating intelligence that kept them apart from other cookies. She has Salt's fixation on a perfect solution to complicated issues and tendency to hold on to responsibilities towards the world, not to mention she inherited his Soul Jam and has connections to ghosts and the afterlife.
And on the same note, Pure Vanilla Cookie also got traits from Fount and Salt. He got Salt's inclination to work alongside cookies instead of putting himself above them (Salt's the only emissary without a halo), and Fount's tendencies for self-doubt and putting on appearances, not to mention the same eyes and a forehead mark (what's up that!? Tell us DevSis!)
It's almost like Knowledge and Solidarity are drawn to each other, or are locked in a same orbit together.
Btw, everyone always says Knowledge failed Fount and that Deceit is an asshole (and it is), but it was Solidarity that proposed the splitting of the Soul Jams, and Silence has, yknow, remained silent towards Silent Salt Cookie. At least Deceit, in between jabs and taunts, it's trying to steer Shadow Milk Cookie closer to the same epiphany Truth gave to Pure Vanilla Cookie. I'm pretty sure, unlike Solidarity, Knowledge didn't want to split and Deceit and Truth are constantly trying to get back together (Never forget they've canonically resonated, ON SCREEN!). So I find it very ironically sad that it was Solidarity the one that refused together. But I suppose that after two wielders corrupted on it, Solidarity had to become its own wielder.
