Oh my god, the moment where Jin Nasol knocked herself out with a punch to the jaw ----
I knew she was unhinged, but I didn't think it was that bad... the scene was tense, but from that moment on, everyone in the neighborhood heard my laughter
And it's also funny that there's a good chance Baek Saheon will be the first member of Roe's gang we meet (I'm already anticipating his reaction)

[GSGW/GDCG chapter 390 slight spoilers + references to TGCF]
Kim Soleum asking a supernatural entity if...
...it can die without oxygen kinda reminds me of that one scene in Heaven Official's Blessing/TGCF where Xie Lian tried giving CPR to a ghost (Hua Cheng) š
Cute first date idea: you try to convince me to stay and rebuild my home with you but there's nothing I want more than to actually go home so I resign from our job and disappear for months only for us to be reunited while I'm something distinctly barely human anymore and cannot communicate with you verbally. And also I've been lying to you for as long as we've known each other

Ch890 and how The Lover of Paradise chose to tempt its victims, and how they snapped out of it
Okay from the looks of it The Lover of Paradise Ghost Story seems to tempt you with what you love most. And it seems to change per person. We can see this with Jin Nasol and Kim Soleum. And it gives us quite the interesting insight into their characters.
For Kim Soleum the Lover spoke as a person. Someone waiting for Soleum. Someone he longed for and someone who longed for him. It was framed as something he had to return to, Someone he had to reunite with.
For Jin Nasol it didn't emphasize its identity but rather what it could give Nasol. Relief. Rest. Peace.
For Nasol its rather clear what she wants. Its relief from her constant pain. Thats why she joined Daydream and collected points. Thats her unobtainable goal. And the Lover offered it to her.
Soleum is a much more interesting case. Because at first glance this seems to be referencing his home. His constant goal, what the entirity of Pt 1 and Pt 2 focused on. But it doesnt quite click. Going home doesnt seem to be his goal. And why would the Lover use guilt to lure him? He was the one who suffered to reach his home. Not the other way around.
But you know who has suffered for him? Who he feels guilty over their potential fates? You know what goal Soleum has? To reunite with those who he left behind. Those who cared for him. Those who suffered for him. Suddenly it makes a lot more sense, no?
So what snapped them out of it? What brought them back from that point where they truly believed if they embraced it, they could achieve what made them happy?
I believe what snapped them out of it, was the thing the lover promised them. But in a physical real form. Let me explain.
Nasol was looking for relief from her pain. Soleum tackling her did nothing. She continued to try and reach the Lover. Until the painkillers fell out of the backpack.
Suddenly her goal was within reach. But physically with real results. Not some vague promise by a ghost. That snapped her out of it.
I believe the same thing happened to Soleum. He was going to happily reunite with those he loved. Despite the glasses causing him to be unable to see, a last desperate failed attempt. Much like the tackle he gave Nasol.
What he wanted was to reunite with those he cared about. What snapped him out of it was tripping over Nasol. Suddenly his goal was right there. Because here was someone he cared about. And they weren't a vague a promise by The Lover. Nasol was real and physical.
Soleum and the Cheerful Theme Park a Brief Analysis
Spoilers for all of parts 1 and 2 of the novel!
After reading todayās manhwa chapter, I was suddenly reminded of the fact that the cheerful theme park as we know it now was different to the one Soleum knew from the wiki. When I first read about this, I thought it was because the park changes every visit, so the story behind the theme park also changes each visit. But then we learned that the park doesnāt change spontaneously, it simply grows with the mascotās desires. And I thought, ah, Soleumās visit to the park must be happening at a different point in time to the entry he originally read.
Now, I think itās because of Soleumās presence.
I already wrote a brief theory on Soleum and the Yellow Mascot ages ago here but this oneās about the Blue Dragonās relation instead.
A brief summary of my previous post: as we already know, the DER wiki has lore and entries spanning decades. Soleum was summoned at a time where many of those entries heās read in the past were about events that had yet to happen in the future, but that which heād end up changing because of his very presence. (Tuesday Quiz Show and Train to Tamra being the most obvious 2)
But what if those changes had been happening even sooner than during his time as a Daydream employee? What if theyāve been happening since the moment he arrived in Sekwang?
Blue Dragon lost his home due to Director Cheongās interference, the very thing she uses to sabotage CRIās summoning attempt. But he was still contracted to the DMB as (most likely) the Blue Dragon Teamās guardian spirit beast. However, he lost that too when Sekwang was sealed. And this gave Cheong the opportunity to stuff Blue Dragon into the mascot suit.
What if the original dragon in the mascot suit in the DER wiki wasnāt Blue Dragon, but a different entity entirely? And due to this different entityās temperament, the stalemate between the Red, Blue and Yellow zones lasted much longer. After all instead of fighting back against Magic Bunnyās attacks, Blue Dragon hid the entrance to his zone away.
Points against this theory: Mermaid Grave and Sekwang City Disaster both existed as wiki entries before Soleumās summoning. Assuming things turned out the same as with Soleum being the cause of the disaster, Blue Dragon wouldāve also been weakened by the incident and been the perfect prey.
anyways, I do wonder what caused such a difference between the two settings of the Cheerful Theme Park ghost story. Because technically the Yellow mascotās body mustāve been scavenged after it died to the Magic Bunny. So it being harvested for parts afterwards has no bearings onā wait.
Actually, I think I have it. Yellow mascot being harvested for parts after it died to Magic Bunny meant that there wasnāt enough of its body left over for it to respawn. The Yellow Mascotās ghost(?) Was still there when Soleum took over, and it probably hid its main components deep inside the resort like Magic Bunny did with itself and the body it was trying to make. Probably buried somewhere underneath the basement. And just like with Magic Bunny, simply killing the main mascot wasnāt enough to destroy it completely. Didnāt Soleum mention something like how Magic Bunny could come back if they didnāt get rid of every last bit of its influence? which is why they went to the castle with Blue Dragon to remove it.
Huh. Problem solved. Post cancelled.
On a slightly different note: chances are Blue Dragonās churros being good at washing away contamination is probably due to his identity as the Dragon King of the East Sea and the association between water and cleansing/purification. Blue Dragon wouldnāt think it was anything particularly special, but itād be a natural property of the items heās made/are associated with him. Chances are, it could even help with Cheerful Theme Park contamination, though I donāt expect it to be particularly effective. Maybe itāll be stronger now that the Dragon King of the East Sea has some of his power/authority back.
