Does this imply that Shanks would've probably gone after the One Piece earlier, but chose to wait until Luffy had accomplished enough that they could both compete for it?

Because I really like the idea that Shanks decided that him and Luffy are equals now, so they can finally officially compete as pirate crews.

you're sleeping on Benn Beckman and his Ace Frehley Spaceman style vibe he's got going on here (along with a few other vibes). OR you wish you were. OR, I wish I was. Shanks probably is, so one of us got lucky (and I'm not talking about Roux).

And Yassop aside, I guess the guy on the left (Limejuice, apparently) is why there are theories out there that he's Kid's deadbeat dad, like, y'know, Axl Rose to Johnny Rotten, in vibes and ego rather than age.

Shock of the day... okay, so first: Cobra is most likely really dead. The WG would not let the information out if they didn’t confirm that there was a body and whose body it was, but now the question is: what happened?

While it is possible that Sabo really killed Cobra, with the man being kinda like a Celestial Dragon if you look at his blood, and I could see it fitting the Revolution’s plan... it just doesn’t feel like something Oda would pull. Having Sabo kill one of Luffy’s friends I mean.

My theory is that Cobra was asking around from the important people about the poneglyphs and the void century, and then someone decided he was too nosy and had him killed, framing Sabo while at it.

  first... Shanks in the opening had me losing my marbles I am not okay at all. like at all. He’s so hot????? like wtffffffff I screamed and my eyes watered a bit and yeah okay that might be an overreaction but I love him okay??!!! leave me alone!! AND HE HAS RED EYES?!?!?!? since... uh.... when! 

I have to go back in my fic now find each and every time I wrote Shanks’ eyes as brown and fix that bc I am a sucker for these kinds of things and also him and Cora are red eyed babies and that has me sobbing in the corner bc omg they MATCH. they ARE SO SOULMATES THE WINDOWS TO THEIR SOULS MATCH - yes this is a heavy, unheard of rarepair yet i don’t give a flying fuck bc they are dads and dilfs and perfect for each other. 

Also.... SHANKS IS MAKING HIS MOVE AND ITS FINDING THE ONE PIECE?!?!?!?!? WTF! I swear if he and Luffy have a fight full of angst and betrayal and “I gave you the fruit bc you had the potential to defeat me!” or some shit - which there does seem to be a vibe about that in this chapter but I hope it’s just my imagination bc I will not be okay with that - I’m going to sob my heart out bc Shanks is so Luffy’s parent. Like he IS Luffy’s parent and idc about anything he IS LUFFY’S PARENT AND IF THEIR REUNION IS NOT WARM AND FUZZY AND NICE I WON’T RECOVER. Like I will write another 200k+ fic to fix that. cryingggggg

(Is it possible that Luffy is the One Piece??? That he’s the “one piece” needed to defeat the oppressive government or something? Or the “one piece” of the puzzle?? Or that the Gomu Gomu was the one piece...???? Idk and my imagination is going a bit off the rails at the moment but ????)

Anyways. SABO IS BEING CALLED AN EMPEROR AND PEOPLE THINK OF HIM AS A GOD?!?!?!?!  is this foreshadowing???? is this just hyperbolism and rumours to show how much Sabo has grown in influence and power?!?!?!? IS HE OKAY????? Bc I KNOW HE DID NOT KILL ANYBODY FUCK THAT!! 

Omg is VIVI okay?!!?? Is my girl safe? Is my badass queen on the run and in hiding with the Rev’s to get revenge on the Gov bc this was obvs a government cover up or something???? If Nami does not hear about Vivi and lose her mind worrying over her Girlfriend I’m gonna cry.
