There’s a new article from Storm Faerywolf on The Wild Hunt today talking about the warning signs of high control groups and covens.
Members of these damaged covens are often instructed not to socialize with others outside the group, or lineage, or are otherwise told certain individuals to avoid. Information is often restricted; leadership oftentimes telling congregants that certain books or…

Pairing: Castiel x Reader, Barry Allen x Reader
Word Count: 1348
Tagging: @blasted-with-salt @deaths-maiden (if anyone wants to add to my taglist, let me know)
Part 1, Part 2: Arrow, Part 2: The Walking Dead
The instant the Trickster lifted his fingers to cast you and Castiel away from the Winchesters, you clutched onto Castiel tight, preparing for the worst. The short flight sent both of you to a quiet hallway. Most of the Trickster's scenes dropped you and the boys in the middle of busy sets, causing confusion within you. The minimal, concrete hallway appeared unfamiliar as you gazed around, almost hoping for a television show you'd recognize.
"Is this suppose to imitate another television program?"
You frowned, gazing down at one end of the hall looking for any indication of where you and Castiel were located. "I'm not sure. But whatever this is," you tore your hand from the angel's arm to set a pace down the hallway, searching for any indication of where the hall led to. "we need to figure out it out and play along. That's what the Trickster instructed before, and I think that's our best shot at staying alive."
Castiel remained standing in a single spot. "These television shows play in infinitive loops," Castiel argued, "we'll be stuck here unless we can escape. Gabriel's sets always have a weak point. Even for an archangel, he has to cut corners to conserve his energy. It's how I escaped prior. I'm certain we'll find one here."
"I'm sorry," You halted, falteringly swinging back around to lock eyes with the angel. "the trickster's an archangel?"
At that moment, you eyes caught a glimpse of the wall behind Castiel's head. Metallic letters spelled S.T.A.R. Labs, drawing you from your conversation with the angel. You felt airless and unable to form a proper thought at the knowledge that you were standing in one of your favorite television shows. Nervous at the idea of a potentially seeing anyone from the show, especially a particular quick fellow.
Castiel carried on without notice. "I'll explain later. For now, we have to find a way to get back to Sam and Dean-"
"Hey, guys." A familiar voice said from the other end of the hallway.
Both you and Castiel turned your heads to see none other than Barry Allen approaching, and you thought you'd melt on the floor from intimidation and awe. The Flash was walking in your direction, smiling at you. Completely shell-shocked, an overwhelming feeling of exhilaration washed over you, making you forget for a moment, that he wasn't real.
Barry appeared as he would on the television show. He was in his everyday clothes with his bookbag slung over his shoulder. You couldn't help but wonder what he'd look like in his superhero suit in person.
"That Gabriel's a genie," you muttered under your breath, causing Castiel to obscurely stare down at you.
Barry's steps became hesitant, realizing he'd interrupted your conversation with Castiel. "Sorry, I was just headed to see Cisco." Barry pointedly gazed down at you. "So, last night was fun."
"It was." Your voice was smaller than expected as you played along, biting down the questionable tone in your voice.
"I was going to talk to you later about it," he started, glancing at Castiel. "Can we have a minute?"
"No."
You finally tore your eyes from the hero to throw daggers at the angel. "Cas!"
Barry intervened. "No, it's okay. Cisco needs to see us anyways." Barry placed a palm to your shoulder blade, leading you down the hall to a familiar curved hall shown in the show. "We can talk later."
"What's he working on now?" You asked, hoping to appear natural, as though you'd always been in the cast.
Barry responded with a knowing grin. "You'll see."
Castiel followed you and Barry down the hall and through the doorway of the familiar Cisco's lab.
"Oh, good, you guys are here!" Cisco exclaimed the moment he looked up from his work. Eagerly tugging at your arm, he began dragging you over to his latest project. Castiel's sharp gaze set onto Cisco's grip. Cisco stopped at a tall glass case where inside exhibited a new purple super suit.
"That's amazing!" You didn't have to act, seeing the Flash-like material. Your eyes dragged over the detail, hues of lavenders, violets and some minor black shades merged. A purple pendant sat on the chest of the suit, the inside design of a gray cloud. "Who's it for?"
Cisco laughed. "You, who else? I finally found a water resistant material with a zero consistency of rubber. Per your request." Cisco watched you soak up the design. "You want to try it on?"
"Hell yeah," you told him eagerly.
Barry came up beside you, wrapping an arm around your waist. He leaned his lips towards your ear and in a low voice whispered, "You're going to look hot in that."
Castiel with his super angel hearing abilities picked up on the comment and stomped like a misbehaving child to the other side of you. "May I have a word?"
"Hey Cas," Cisco began. "I'm working on your suit too. It's just taking awhile to get a rubber suit not to squeak."
"Rubber?"
Cisco stared for a moment in confusion, resembling Castiel's gaze. "You know, so you won't accidentally sent shock waves through your body, and you know, uh, kill yourself."
Castiel stared for another moment before turning to you. "Where are we?"
Barry began to laugh before you had to work damage control for Castiel's comment. "This guy is really something. You'd think he'd be a comedian rather than having high voltage electricity in his blood."
Castiel held your stare, silently begging you to end the torture that was the characters.
"Cas, why don't I test the suit while you go work on that, uh, project of your own."
"Oh, whatcha up to, buddy?" Cisco asked. "Anything you need some help with?"
Castiel snapped. "This is ridiculous, Y/N. These people aren't real. There's no point in pretending this is an actuality. This is juvenile ploy to distract us further while Gabriel gets what he wants from Sam and Dean. Now, let's find the exit, please."
You glanced once more at the suit and walked back over to Castiel. "You're right. We need to help the boys."
You left the room without explanation to the characters. You spent half an hour running around with the angel looking for a weak link in the set, for any means of escape. The entire time Castiel remained silent.
"Look, Cas," you began as you turned around another corner in the seemingly Labyrinth of the building. "I'm sorry about getting distracted. I just love that show."
Castiel stopped in his tracks, gazing down at you with sorrow eyes, opposite of what you thought. "It wasn't right to lash out; you did not deserve mistreatment. I was..." He trailed off in a small huff.
"You were frustrated that I couldn't get my head in the game, I was ogling Barry. I get it."
"It's more than that. I didn't- the situation-" Castiel struggled to find the right words. "I was upset with how involved you became with that man. I'd rather you not ogle anyone; in a television set or in reality."
"Cas? You mean..."
"I found myself envious of him, but rather uncomfortable at the same moment. I," Castiel's eyes fell to the ground. "well, I became jealous. I'd very much rather have your eyes set on me, even though I imagine you feel nothing-"
You silenced the angel by resting your palms on his cheeks, pulling his face down to meet yours. "I'd like that too."
Only, when you opened your eyes, you weren't in the hallway, but an abandoned, dark warehouse with three pairs of eyes set on you and Castiel.
Gabriel, trapped in a holy circle, wolf-whistled. "At a boy, baby bro."
The concept of patron deities in polytheism caused me a lot of trouble back in the day. I was on a polytheist mailing list and it seemed like everyone on the list had a patron deity who had approached them personally. They were also adamant that the deity approached them and not the other way around. So I thought I should have a patron deity. This left me uniquely vulnerable to what happened…
Once upon a time, Christendom labelled the Emperor Julian “the Apostate” because he reverted to Paganism. Nowadays, the title is applied to people who leave the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Moss Matthey left the JWs in order to live his truth as a gay man—as many others have left high control religious groups for the same reason.
Not long after he left, he discovered witchcraft, as well as a loving…

A friend shared a Facebook post by Richard Swan (in the fun group Dull Men’s Club) today, talking about how vanishingly few people are tone deaf, and most people can sing.
Richard Swan
I take the view that singing is an outpouring of the soul and one of the cruellest things a person can do is to tell someone else that they can’t sing, so this is a topic that is very close to my heart.

Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them. Acts 16:10
Plans are made all the time by most people. Once made, very few like to have to change them and do something completely different. It is difficult to change up a plan, unless it is for something that is dramatically different and better.…
Changing Paths challenge day 18: Intuition
Spidey sense, gut feeling: we might call these a sort of bodily knowledge, but they are key components of intuition.
