In the the aftermath of experiencing trauma, it is not uncommon for survivors to seek solace in the replication of actions they endured during their traumatic experiences.
People who have been assaulted or have undergone other forms of trauma may exhibit behaviours that were not present prior to these experiences, and would not have been otherwise. This response is a normal reaction to trauma in any given situation and serves as both a coping mechanism as well as a means of reclaiming power in previously powerless circumstances.
