trying to think back on your childhood bc you know something bad happened and feeling sick and dissociated (despite still not being able to remember anything) might be a trauma response??
This is a trauma response.
experiencing sexual urges and feelings while age regressed can be a trauma response
This is/can be a trauma response.
Thinking my life is basically over whenever I make even a minor mistake (forgetting to do something someone asked me to do, accidentally confusing people when trying to explain things, etc) and mentally spiralling about how no-one will love me if I'm incompetent and I might as well stop existing.
(I think I'm getting better, but it still happens sometimes)
This can 100% be a trauma response but can also be related to OCD (or even a mix of both).
for context, there's this show I love. it's become a comfort show of mine but this one episode, while i like it, I get deja vu from other, especially the opening. but not in a good way. the memory in particular is sneaking out at night to watch tv and that episode being what comes up.
my stepdad never hit me, but he threatened to. i was scared of him even though he tried to trivialize my feelings. "this isn't abuse. you don't know what abuse is" "i could lock you in a cage if you want to be abused so bad" he always came off as judgemental. i don't remember being so afraid to express myself until he came into the picture, this i can't guarantee, as i was pretty young when he did.
i shouldn't have to have been afraid of my stepdad, but i was. i know That's not my fault but i've spent so long getting my thoughts and feelings invalidated by him that i constantly feel like i'm being overdramatic
as i'm typing this i do hope i misremembered, and nothing had happened that night. but the memory of being caught by my stepdad, who by the way, had threatened to beat me over something as small as watching tv while having a cold, struck fear in me. i don't know of he showed up in that supposed memory, but i hope he didn't.
sidenote: i've heard some things about the inaccuracies of "false memories" so i'm reluctant to call them that, but i do feel a strange sense of familiarity with the tv episode even though i'm pretty sure i wouldn't have seen anything of the show for years

You don't need to be actually hit for it to be abusive. Threatening your child, no matter if it's violence, abandonment or your own death, is never okay and it's reasonable for you to be scared in that situation.

This is a trauma response
Iโm not sure if Iโm allowed to submit here since I am not diagnosed with any kind of trauma-induced disorders but
I think I was bullied by (or, at the very least, extremely excluded from) my social environment (school peers) and my parents are so often out of town working so Iโve mostly been raised by my sister but sheโs also busy with her own life
so Iโve always been extremely lonely and insecure and scared that everyone could get up and leave me at any given moment so Iโm extremely clingy and affectionate and I constantly attention seek, even sometimes hurting myself just for attention
Is it possible this might be a trauma response?
This is a trauma response.
Just to be clear, you don't need any diagnosis (or disorder at all) to submit here, we're not diagnosed with anything ourselves.
venting, unpromted
today was a strange day. early in the morning i had an infusion. everything went smoothly, even though i was a little nervous that i'm not doing Tysabri but an analog instead. but i don't have a choice. back at home i was scrolling through waterparks content (the only thing that helps me these days) but then i had a massive breakdown. i just went straight to vent to my partner about my problems, and suddenly i felt... like you don't even see everything as black-and-white, you see everything just in black. i was crying for 5 hours straight and at that moment i was thinking maybe my grief has developed into depression. it's hard to define.
for now, i feel a little better.
