Atheists thinking it's okay to disrespect Christianity (and other religions but mostly Christianity) just because they're Atheist
This is anti-religion.
Shoutout to all my chill atheists! 💘
I understand having church hurt but I'm going to say something that is a hot take but really shouldn't be: if you are traumatized by a religion, it is YOUR responsibility to process that trauma and overcome it so that you don't become a hateful, spiteful, bitter bitch.
And I'm saying that as somebody that had a bunch of church hurt and became a bitter bitch and now, 7 years of deconstruction and study of biblical theology later, have processed almost all of my religious trauma and now no longer consider myself traumatized by the church.
If your take on Christianity is "it oppresses minorities" then I'm going to assume that you haven't done any in depth study of Biblical theology beyond a surface level reading of the Bible in it's non-native language.
That's not to say that the Church hasn't committed atrocities. They absolutely have, as a pagan and an indigenous mixed person, I am ACUTELY aware of that. But what the Church has done, for centuries, is take religion and twist it into something it's not.
The Bible affirms women.
The Bible affirms queer people.
The Bible affirms BIPOC individuals.
The Bible affirms pagans and witches.
The Bible affirms poor folk and the abused.
Actually STUDY. Please I beg you, because true and honest, genuine Christianity is genuinely so fucking beautiful.
Sincerely,
A multifaith person that practices Gnosticism, folk Catholicism, and bridal mysticism.
Whenever a Christian gets confused about people being wary of them and/or they get offended by phrases like “there’s no hate like Christian love.” The first thing that pops into my mind was the time that my grandfather told me if I didn’t pray for him to have his blood test come back positively and they came back negatively. It would be my fault. I was sixteen at the time
Tbh, even though I'm no longer an atheist, I still think the 'angry atheist' stereotype just comes from anti-atheist bigotry. It's the same as the 'angry feminist' stereotype; an archetype created to shame marginalized people who don't properly center the feelings of those with privilege over them in their advocacy.
Regardless of what you think of atheism as a philosophical position, atheists are still a marginalized religious group. If you're more concerned about the possibility that they'll be mean to Christians, then the possibility of Christians doing real material harm to them, you're just advocating for their oppression.

Does anyone else hate how whenever a Catholic/christian makes a video about bible verses or something people in the comments are like
Example;
Jessics_00928383
; "science loves you, atom 😺."
"Atom" as a way to mimick or mock people of that religion for saying "amen" after a prayer .
I think the hate is overly excessive(I don't care that you probably have some trauma over of that specific religion that got you all up in your feelings, but mocking religion is corny. That stands for all religions)
Note; ironic I'm saying this while on my account I write nothing but hard core smut about dragon!aerion piping me down.
Also I love those nuns who had a podcast(100% would follow this is not sponsored)
God In the Grit.
God is real.
As suffering,
as murdering,
as breathing.
“You’re still culturally Christian because you grew up in a Christian country”
Okay. My beliefs are still atheistic. My practices are still atheistic. My identity is with atheism. It is a crucial part of my life story. It fundamentally separates me from Christians and Christianity. It is part of who I am, and no one gets to decide who I am but me.
