Wishing all those who are starting Lent this Wednesday a blessed fast! Lent in the Orthodox Church starts on the 23rd of February, so it is a little longer until ours starts. I wish that your Lent will be spiritually nourishing and strengthening. May you grow in your faith and love for God.
If you ever find yourself struggling, reach out to your local Church community, and especially to your Priest. Support one another, and pray for one another. And don’t give in to the temptation to despair if your goals don’t work out exactly as you planned. Pick yourself back up from whatever falls you encounter. You can always make a start again the next day. And remember that it is always okay to reflect and change your goals if your circumstances change and/or you realise they aren’t practical/helpful for you. If you get sick during Lent, or have a pain/symptom flareup, please know that you are not a failure or a disappointment. You are so loved by God, and He understands your circumstances. Don’t feel you have to push yourself to perform at the level you do when you’re well and make yourself sicker.
If you are taking a break from Tumblr for Lent, I hope the break gives you what you need. If you will still be using Tumblr over Lent, know that I will be on here and happy to answer any prayer request or be a person that you can vent to. Feel free to share your goals for Lent and provide updates throughout. And if you have any questions about Lent in the Orthodox Church, I am happy to try and answer those too. God bless you and your loved ones! 🙏🏻💖
