I don't think most people understand how isolating and exhausting it feels to be aromantic There's the big things (my mom telling me to talk about it to my therapist, like it's something that can be cured, my dad comparing it to a disorder, the breakdown of understanding I'll never have a regular wedding) and then there's the little things There's scrolling through tumblr and seeing people talk about falling in love like there's something everyone experiences, there's people looking weird at me in class when I talk about being aro, there's the looking at a fanfic about a ship I love and thinking I'll never have something like this. Being aromantic is a part of me the same way my hair and my skin and the color of my eyes are. And there's still people who think I could change it.
