Airship
Although the term “airship” is used broadly, it encompasses a wide range of vessels, from passenger ships that connect major cities to massive military warships. Their shapes and purposes vary greatly. Because “airship” refers to any machine that flies using buoyancy generated by skystone, it also includes vehicles that do not resemble conventional aircraft, such as airbikes.
Airships currently in use throughout Ivalice can be broadly divided into Bhujerban-made and Archadian-made models. Bhujerban airships are produced by the Moogle engineers who originally invented airship technology, and they are highly regarded for their stability and comfortable ride.
In contrast, Archadian airships incorporate the latest technology from the Imperial Capital of Archades, and excel in flight speed. In recent years, development at the Imperial capital’s secret Draklor Laboratory has accelerated rapidly, allowing Archadian-made airships to take over their Bhujerban counterparts.
