I think of this fic that I wrote almost half a decade ago and it’s like wow. This silly little Drabble really did not deserve all those kudos and bookmarks but you don’t know how silly happy younger me was. I miss 00Q

“I said what I said,” Quackity replied with a shrug, breezy, like he hadn’t just lobbed an emotional grenade into the middle of the table. Like he hadn’t spent the last year and a half doing the exact opposite of this. “I get why people fawn over him. It’s whatever. He’s got that whole tortured-poet thing going on. I’m not afraid to admit it.”
Charlie nearly toppled sideways in his chair. “You just called Wilbur Soot cool.”
“Okay, yeah, he’s annoying as hell,” Quackity said quickly, pointing at him, “and he talks like he’s being recorded for an indie film. But I’m not gonna lie— he’s good at what he does. That’s respectable.”
Purpled blinked. Once. Twice. “Dude. Since when?”

Wilbur looked up, confused, still recovering from emotional whiplash.
“Your point being?”
Schlatt grinned, that infuriating, knowing smirk tugging at his lips. “You're still rivals, right? Or… enemies? Well, either way, this is some golden intel for you to actually get under his skin.”
Wilbur blinked. As if remembering. Oh, right.
Schlatt shrugged. “Just saying. Maybe write him a poem. Slip it in his locker. Or— even better, get him a bouquet of flowers and give it to him. You know, as a joke.” He suggested. “Throw him off his game.”
Wilbur snorted, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. “Yeah, hilarious. I’m sure he’d be totally disarmed by my… wit.”
“Exactly,” Schlatt said, chuckling low and satisfied. “Just a joke. You love jokes.”
