Being a DC fan in actuality is really fucking funny because you’ll mostly stay in your own corner with passing knowledge on other characters and then sometimes discourse you’ve never heard of pops up on your dash about another subset of DC and when you click on it it’s apparently an argument that’s been going on for 20+ years and has divided the entire character tag, had 3 writers fired, forced DC editorial to step in only to get lashed off the internet, led to 7 fist fights and also Batman is There. And then you click out of it and Never Hear Of It Again.

my readthrough only lets me get fleeting glimpses of characters (every time i drop in on hal his life is in fucking shambles and he is either breaking up or getting back together with carol ferris), but even so. this progression really is something.

NOT GONNA LIE.#NOT THAT I BLAME YOU FOR THIS KYLE. YOU'RE DOING YOUR BEST KYLE.#I MEAN TWO SECONDS INTO BEING A SUPERHERO AND YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN RECRUITED INTO A CRISIS EVENT. HELL OF A LEARNING CURVE KYLE.#addendum: having now read probably a good chunk of hal's post-parallax '90s appearances i am even more fascinated.#face-heel turn so speedran that they did 1000 patch jobs on it. and i haven't even gotten to the parallax retcon yet.
