I often wonder if my friends in real life actually like me. Why am I always the one putting effort into my friendships? If I don’t text first, we never talk. If I don’t make plans, we never hang out. I have maybe two or three friends who actually reach out first, and I only became friends with them recently. Don’t get me wrong, I love my other friends, but sometimes I just want to feel important enough for them to text me first. Not all the time, just sometimes. I’m tired of feeling like I’m the only one doing the work to keep these friendships alive. A friendship shouldn’t feel so one-sided.
