goddd amy pond you are so special to me. here is a girl who is the odd one out in her small town. she lives alone in such a big house, and the raggedy man didn't come back in five minutes. she is mentally ill. this is important.
her weird ass childhood created the amy we see in s5--immature and impulsive and absolutely terrified of commitment. she cannot handle how much rory loves her, and how ready he is to commit wholly to her. and then there is a WHOLE EPISODE where she chooses him. she decides she would rather die than live without him.
then she gets her parents back (which is never addressed again. moffat...) and she gets married and she's growing up! and thennnn demon's run. she is unknowingly held captive throughout her pregnancy, gives birth alone and afraid, and then has her baby snatched from her forever. and we kind of move past it...until asylum of the daleks. and here we see how amy's issues are still very much affecting her. she truly believes that she is broken and what is right is to give rory a 'real' family like he wants. because she cannot conceptualize that he would still want her. fucked up as she is. but this is rory fucking williams we're talking about!!! and when angels in manhattan comes, she chooses him. she chooses him over the all stars and the doctor and the adventures. of course she does.
