More praise for Fallout: New Vegas, and more shame on Bethesda for doing what they're doing.
And another thing.

I was trying to take a picture of the flower when this stupid cat decided to do a photobomb. Stupid cat.
Another Iota Galaxy for the Clan Hell's Horses joins the fray. Nova goes bweem x 6.
WIP of another "Swede Marine" - or the Bulwark Lords as I call this homebrew Chapter that's become a serious force just because it has to be.
Metal details in silver, no gold/brass, the powerplant housing and gun will be silver and I think the "fingers" of the powerfist will be too. Black and white pterurges and tassels. That ought to do it (I will not think about the free hand symbols I will be also forced to make at some point).
Drawing a blank on a couple of hobby projects at the moment that I want to work with, but maybe I could do something to jog the creative juices.
So, hey, if anyone got any Battletech or Mutant/general Post-apoc questions, fire away my way.
Thoughts on the Hermes II? I find while its offensive power is generally mediocre it has surprising staying power.
It has a decent amount of armour for a 40-tonner, and it might feel like it has a weak damage output but it is much due to it having an Autocannon 5, and Autocannons take up a lot of space. So, this machine will never run hot (unless something has seriously gone wrong) as a result of it's weapon load-out.
So yeah, I'd say spot-on.
sometimes being a fan of something means not wanting them to make any more of it

Lowkey I bet it felt good as fuuuuuuck to be one of the coal miners that got to blow a pinkertons brains out from a high ridge with a bolt action rifle.
reblog if the first musical you listened to was not Hamilton
Oh he's stupid.

It fucking better.
There are some mangas I read that I know are just hot garbage, but since they’re fun I overlook their flaws
But man I sometimes wonder what the fuck I’m reading.
please explain
There’s a worldwide livestream of a girl that wears a jack-o-lantern as a mask fighting against US-made spider drones, which is happening right after she dispatched an entire Seal Team 6 unit with the help of a gigantic man that dressed like a baby, a mad scientist armed with a sniper rifle, two Japanese police detectives, and a crossdressing hacker.
Said girl is also a serial killer and a genetically engineered supersoldier.

I have been watching my parent's house with their pets while they are on a caravan trip, and I have consistently for almost all of these days developed wicked mean migraines. So I just have to wonder why the hell that is. Is it the water I am drinking? Is it the coffee from their machine? Or is it the 7Up that was stockpiled, or is it the absence of cola-sodas? Fuck if I know, but it has lost its charm.
So Doctor Deveraux has a new blog post out about how pre-modern armies were mobilized after their recruitment as part of a series of posts about world building, and I'm still reading through it, but he touches on something major: unless your fictional Medieval Fantasy government is MASSIVELY centralized on a par with either Imperial Rome or the various majorly centralized Chinese kingdoms (I know some were more centralized than others but I can't for the life of me remember which ones) or the later European powers after the 1600s, all of the men you are able to muster for combat will supply their own weapons and their own armour.
In fact, using the Medieval English ordinances from the reign of Henry II of England and his Assize of Arms of 1181, we get a straight up example of what that would entail:
Whoever possesses one knight's fee shall have a shirt of mail, a helmet, a shield, and a lance; and every knight shall have as many shirts of mail, helmets, shields, and lances as he possesses knight's fees in demesne.
Moreover, every free layman who possesses chattels or rents to the value of 16 marks shall have a shirt of mail, a helmet, a shield, and a lance; and every free layman possessing chattels or rents to the value of 10 marks shall have a hauberk, an iron cap, and a lance.
Item, all burgesses and the whole community of freemen shall have [each] a gambeson, an iron cap and a lance.
Besides, each of them shall swear to have these arms before the feast of St. Hilary, to be faithful to the lord king Henry — namely, the son of the Empress Matilda — and to bear these arms in his service according to his command and in fealty to the lord king and his kingdom. And henceforth no one having these arms shall sell them or pledge them or lend them or alienate them in any other way; nor shall a lord in any way alienate them from his men, either through forfeiture or through gift or a pledge or in any other way.
This then follows to the Statute of Winchester in 1285 under Edward I that all men from ages 15 (some sources say 12) up to 60 to maintain and train with the longbow along with other weapons and to keep them in their households.
