i need crossword puzzles to stop giving me sports clues. dont ask me about football stars and nba championships and baseball team names. im the kind of nerd who chooses to do crossword puzzles why would you expect this of me. cruel and unusual.
Maybe ask your friends who would know- oh wait.
Dear Diary. Today I spent 5 minutes staring at a stranger wondering if he was a guy I knew from College, managed to observe that "wait, College Friend had a prosthetic leg and this man in jorts is clearly dual weilding", then proceeded to wonder if there was any way it could still actually be him for another 30 seconds
me about almost exactly five years ago:
*hmmm I wonder if this is my friends dad.*
*hmmmm no my friend mentioned her farther lost his foot to diabetes and this man is wearing shorts with sneakers, and I can clearly see he has two equally sized ankles under those socks*
*wait! but maybe it is in fact a very realistic fake foot!*
[Proceeds to spend like 40 seconds debating whether this mans ankles were real or not, and which one could be the fake.]
Care if an ace bean gets a little racial in your DM’s?
What the hell are yall saying yo me lately? Im getting fucking mad
I think they meant "racy" not "racial" but uhhhhhhhhh
FOMX

It’s Fourth of July Eve so make sure to leave some milk and cookies out for Captain America
I THOUGHT AFTER FOUR YEARS YOU PEOPLE WOULD LET THIS DIE AND YET AGAIN I OPEN THIS CURSED APP TO FIND MORE NOTES ON THIS POST
Me: mother my science was growing mold so i killed the mold with apple cider vinegar
Mine mother, appalled: child you are alergic to apples, what were you thinking!!
Myself, equally appalled: well i don't plan on drinking the science!
gettin pissed da fuck AWF
While having rules and systems in place to avoid giving people mental health issues on purpose is good and all, it would be nice if i could go online n search like "best pretty girly clothes for my body shape for girls" without 900 filtered disclaimers being all like "theres no one true way to be a girl! just wear what's comforting to you!" WHATS COMFORTING IS SWEATPANTS BUT THEY DONT MAKE ME FEEL PRETTY AND ALSO MY BODY IS GROWING AND CHANGING AND NONE OF MY CLOTHES FIT ME GOOD ANYMORE AND I DONT LIKE TRYING ON EIGHT BILLION TSHIRTS AT THE MALL IN ONE DAY. I WANNA FEEL PRETTY BUT I DONT KNOW HOW AND SEARCH ENGINES THINK IM A 12 YEAR OLD WITH AN IMPRESSIONABLE YOUNG MIND. SEND HELP.
Catch me being a modern-day cyberpirate screaming up alongside you on the 405 in my mad max car with half a bitcoin farm's worth of RAM in the backseat as I hack your Bitchless Towyota™ device and steal the boat you're towing right off the back bumper of the tesla your dad bought you
As i roar into the sunset you have to swerve* to avoid the small flotilla of hacked Towyota devices trailing behind me
(*in fact you do not swerve because you're on hands-free driving to go along with your hitch-free towing so you can only watch helplessly as your tesla mistakes your stolen booty for a small child and accelerates crashing into it and killing you instantly)
Ok so many many years ago, whence having infrared-reading machines that could be controlled by remotes was still very very new, there was this company that sold the very first-ish version of a remote controlled garage door in which one could drive into their driveway and have the door to their garage open without them having to get out, right? Stay with me here-
So anyways, one day some relative of mine (I don't remember who, my dad told me this story like fifteen years ago) discovered that all these garage doors used the exact same frequency because again this technology was freesh out the womb new tech and no one had the bright idea yet that maybe, just maybe, making a hundred locks that all had the same shape key and selling them to every person in a town wasn't the best idea, so this relative of mine decided to just drive around town opening everyone's garage doors at their discretion because they thought the idea of being able to open garage doors while driving down the road was hysterical.
so now whenever I see new tech like this (and the post above mine following it) my mind flashes back to that story of easily "hackable" tech because maybe, just maybe, having something that is wireless isn't always the best idea. Because someone like the memebers of my family might find it to be the funiest thing in the world to just drive around messing with it.
The longer it takes for this to come across your dash the funnier it is
Which will fade first? Memories of the Area 51 "raid", or memories of Internet Explorer?
In the year 2026??? Amazing.

@therealjacksepticeye: I think there's something I'm missing... Something really obvious that I haven't done yet...
The humble password computer his curser is hovering over:
they can 't let me have babies bc unironically i think "Whimsy" would be a really cute name. i might really name my human children like they're pet hamsters or perhaps fish
i'd also pay for their name changes when they're teens if they so desired. but i fear knowing that might only embolden me further...
The (European) sun is a deadly laser, stay safe everyone
☝️🤓 it’s because the further you move toward the earth’s poles, the lower the angle of the sun is at the hottest parts of the day, meaning the radiation hits your whole body, causing it to feel 10-20 degrees warmer than the thermometer reading will tell you. People from tropical climes, aka close to the equator, are used to the sun’s radiation hitting a much smaller target- their head and shoulders.
Also the further you move toward the poles the more pronounced the difference between the length of day and night is. Worst part of a far-north (or south) heatwave is it doesn’t get dark long enough for meaningful cooling.
It’s not the heat. It very literally is the sun.
I'm from Maine, and when I go down the east coast I'm like "why is it 70 and cold what the fuck is happening right now" and now I know why.
Ok so for several years now I've been of the opinion that "if I need to read a minimum-three-sentence paragraph on a plaque for an art piece to make sense then maybe you should have put more thought into what you were actually saying" but I just saw two paintings that I thought were pretty neat but then I saw the titles and was like 'what the actual fuck do these (the painting and the title) have in common' and I think that's objectively worse.
I'm gonna keep it vague because the artist is still alive and I don't want to hurt any feelings, but it was two abstract paintings of peonies and the titles were related to a method of pottery. I don't know why you would name a painting after something that is very much not related to what the painting is of.
Also, to clarify, if the title itself of a piece of art makes the art make sense, that's fine. That's good. That's fine. The title explains the art. But if you have to try really hard to convince me that what you have painted is actually what you have painted, then I'm not sure you thought it out for as long as you really could have. Like if you paint a solid single-color green square and you try to tell me it represents the field you used to play football on as a child, methinks you could have probably put some goal posts or at the VERY least added some grass texture.

Ok, since ya'll want to be self-rightous on my posts, lets clear some things up-
Here is an incomplete list of ways people are affected by the illiteracy crisis that keeps being mentioned:
Viewer is unable to find a way to relate to the main character due to the character being from a different background than their own, and because of this, thinks that the piece of media is not worth anything to anyone anywhere. Even the people who CAN relate to the main character. (Example: men who thought Turning Red 2022 was a bad movie because it was about tween girls and not Mid Thirties Wite Men Who Do Stonks)
Viewer does not understand why a character would make the decision they made, and also doesn't understand that the character is driven by the genre the author chose because the character is not a real person and this is a work of fiction. Example: People who complain about the victim in a horror going into the basement, being all like, "uh why does she go into the basement, don't you know you're not supposed to go into basements if you hear a creepy noise?" like I don't know man, maybe they thought the water heater was broken and simply thought they were going to go down and fix it, people go into basements for normal reasons all the time.
Viewer does not understand why a mysoginistic author would make badly written female characters. Also, Viewer does not understand that the author writes the book and makes the characters move, the characters cannot think for themselves. You cannot mentally will the character into become a strong independant woman by the power of parasocialism.
Viewer does not know that different countries have different social rules, and assumes that every book/movie/etc about different countries and cultures is inherently a bad book.
Viewer does not understand that different genres can have different rules when it comes to plot progression and how the subtext is used (see: every person who didn't understand why Iron Lung 2026 would have long pauses between jumpscares and gave it a bad review. That's a classic horror trope that was correctly used. As opposed to action movies, that can be just non-stop movement and progression)
Now, here is a list of things that are NOT EVEN REMOTELY related to this illiteracy crisis:
dyslexia.
visual impairment.
not speaking middle english.
hrpf but instead of any romance your teams just make better choices
Self-Insert first person but I'm the team owner/GM and I'm making very good franchise decisions "-And then it was the trade deadline day and we did NOT trade Marshy to the Panthers, whoever said we did was a liar and a fool, and then the Bruins went to cup and we won by a landslide and it was great amen the end."
