it’s interesting to me that cas knows how to navigate the angel politics fairly well here. i wouldn’t even be surprised if cas were to throw in some casual, seemingly harmless misanthropy, you know? (in fact, sam and dean plopping themselves in the booth probably made it more difficult for cas to talk the talk.)

and ofc ishim’s misanthropy reads like mad-men-type misogyny, “i was wronged by a woman and now i hate women on principle,” parallels the, “i was wronged by a human and now i don’t like humans on principle.”

I don’t have the GIFs, but Cas seems almost relieved when Sam swoops in to provide neutral wording, which allows Cas to breeze past having to talk about angel-human relations.

Clearly, it’s something that makes Cas uncomfortable both because of his upbringing and the forbidden nature of his and Dean’s feelings. We learn that it’s not just any law, it’s the oldest law in Heaven.

And soldier angels are rife with misanthropy from what little we’ve seen. If misanthropy is that saturated in the military wing (see: Uriel) then it’s no wonder Lucifer found such easy support, (or that AU Michael was able to switch to genociding humans after defeating Lucifer).

It’s animalistic almost, the way his hackles raise when Sam’s in danger, his own sixth sense. Every instance of Sam going missing in the show is promptly followed by Dean on a warpath, ripping apart everything and anything to get him back safe. And it's made worse in these instances, when Dean has no leads, nowhere to start, no clue what the threat is and let alone how to kill it.

Even in the midst of a fight between them there's no hesitation, not a moment where Dean isn't on high alert at the slightest hint of danger to his brother.

They're drinking in a bar after a hunt when they get into an argument (it could be post demonblood!Sam for added angst) and Sam stalks back to their motel room. Dean follows an hour later only to find the room trashed, everything overturned, blood smeared on every surface. Then he’s hunting Sam down like a bloodhound. The abductors don't even have Sam for an hour before they're dead.

Dean's over-protectiveness in a well known fact, amogst hunters and monsters alike. Their fear is evident, especially when they realise they've inadvertently crossed paths with Dean by fucking with Sam (and they barely survived their run in with Sam, now they have Dean to contend with)

They all know that if they're making plans to take out Sam they have to take out Dean as well, a necessary hurdle if they don't want trouble later on. Because they know there's not a place on earth, in fucking hell, where they can escape him.

The editor I hired to curate my posts who styles himself as a sort of scheming court advisor: My liege, this one is getting away from us. The punchline loses much of its impact when the rest of the joke is derailed by this increasingly self-indulgent meta humour. Were it up to me, your Grace, which of course it is not, I would cut the others and leave myself as the only supporting character. You need noone else, Your Majesty...

Well I don't like how it feels. I don't feel cleaner without body hair. I don't prefer not having body hair. But who will advocate for women like me, but me? For women who do like hair removal, they are advocated for every time they step out of the house and see 99% of the female population also conforming to that standard, or when they watch a movie and see all the shaved actresses, or view an advertisment, or open a magazine, or watch a music video, or scroll through social media, or walk down the streets without receiving insults and glares for having a completely normal bodily feature.
