Just found this blog- may share a little bit of personal positivity? My partner, who has Hirsutism (and possibly undiagnosed PCOS because I came across the symptoms on this blog and they match), has stopped shaving her beard for the first time (and neither of us shave anywhere else) and I'm very happy about how accepting our social circle (mainly the friends and colleagues) have been. I really hope that this acceptance/non-issue will one day be the norm.
I hope so too. I think it's absolutely insane that women are supposed to keep up a completely hairless standard even if we literally have a medical condition that causes us to grow more hair, or other circumstances that make hair removal extremely difficult.
I'm so happy to hear your partner has a good support system, and I hope that one it will be the norm too instead of something exceptional!

And yes, we do see some pit hair in yellow jackets but some of the girls always have perfectly shaven legs so it's not fully as realistic as I'd hoped.
Watched the french movie Elevator to the gallows (it's an old movie from the 50s) recently and was happy to see dark black arm hair on one of the main characters that's similar to mine.

Honestly i really reccommend beard oil for pubic hair, at least the parts of the pubic hair that arent too up in there. you can get it anywhere and its made to soften coarser thicker hair than what grows on the head so. Maybe unscented would be ok for parts of the pubes that are in the crack and lips but i havent tried it up in there im ngl
This is actually kind of genius, ngl. Because it's formulated for the face (men's skin, but still) it's less likely to block your pores than a typical carrier oil. I agree, I wouldn't recommend using anything near the actual labia or vagina opening, but using it on the mound and inner thighs seems like it could be a good option for women who struggle with the feeling of chafing! xx

Thank you - reaching out with other women has been the most important part of this to me. Even though it gets tough at times always being seen as the 'anomaly', I always remember that when I make the choice not to shave and to let the world see me with hairy legs or pits or facial hair, it makes easier for the next woman to do it too, and for the next generation of girls to see that it can be done, and there are women who say no to these enforced standards!

Just a little update (I don't know if any of my regular/long-time followers are still around or if anyone gaf lol but anyway) - me/my blog aren't dead! I suffered an arterial blood clot at the end of 2024 and had pretty major surgery in 2025. Then this year I had a laparoscopy with adhesion removal because my endomteriosis glued my ovary to my bowel 🙃 Tbh I thought I was going to lose it (my ovary) because my surgeon warned me that if they couldn't safely separate them without my damaging my bowel, it might just need to come out. So far it's hanging in there, just about.
I'm still waging my person war on the evils of female hair removal and the pressures to conform though, dw. I think the 16-year old me who created this blog way back when would be proud (and probably in disbelief) that I'd one day be able to leave the house with visibly hairy legs/underarms/unibrow/arms etc without having a breakdown.
Now that I'm unable to use estrogen to control my hormones (thanks to the blood clot) I've just had to make peace with my appearance - acne, chin hairs, extra weight and all. And I'm okay that with that!

I'm just going to say it - body hair (and beauty standards in general) is truly one of the final frontiers of women's issues in the West. Too many women just love their gilded cage too much. It shocks me how virulently women will defend it. I barely open my mouth and the "well I like how it feels. it just makes me feel cleaner. sensory issues. I do it for me. feminism is about choosing (to conform)." brigade come rushing in by the dozens.
Well I don't like how it feels. I don't feel cleaner without body hair. I don't prefer not having body hair. But who will advocate for women like me, but me? For women who do like hair removal, they are advocated for every time they step out of the house and see 99% of the female population also conforming to that standard, or when they watch a movie and see all the shaved actresses, or view an advertisment, or open a magazine, or watch a music video, or scroll through social media, or walk down the streets without receiving insults and glares for having a completely normal bodily feature.
You genuinely can't even point out that hairlessness is a man-made standard without women losing their shit and acting like they are totally immune to propaganda they've been exposed to from birth. I'm so tired.
my advice for women is eat more, shave less, and do whatever the fuck you want

one very good example of how porn is affecting all girls and women and progressively taking over the mainstream is that porn popularised the expectation that women shave our pussy - bush was completely normal in the 70s and even in the 90s complete removal was unusual albeit trimming was popular - and female pubic hair was only branded „unhygienic“ and undesirable with the rise of porn through widespread internet access from the 2000s onwards - hair removal in other parts of female bodies was actively pushed for by big razor in the 1920s, who laid the groundwork for body hair on women being considered gross. even girls and women who have never watched porn will be met with this expectation, communicated through jokes, media, friends and partners. now we see that other porn trends - looking like a living blow up doll with out of proportion fake lips, fake hair, fake tits, fake lashes - have also taken over. and many women are not even aware that this is where these expectations stem from, and claim them to be individual choices and not trends set by an industry and reflecting a societal ill: porn sickness.
