here's a timeline I made for how I imagine it goes over the years. After Sakumo's death Kakashi splinters into parts that will become Kakashi and Hound, but things are very messy and confusing until after Rin's death, at which point Kakashi goes dormant and Hound becomes the main host. I also thought it would be interesting to add someone else to the mix... I will elaborate below. After they leave ANBU they're mostly cohosting. I actually think Hound and kakashi get along lmao... they both want to protect each other from the things they can't handle. obviously that's not an outlook they reach super early on... but they get there.

here's the third part also. I can't think of a name for them and I also feel as though they wouldn't use one so I'm using ████ for now. I found a post I made ages ago that said it would interesting if Kakashi split an internal self helper that sounded like Obito so this is a spin on that idea (no longer obito, but definitely connected to Obito). This part serves as a moral compass and sort of a ... I mean okay I know the term is 'persecutor' but 'prosecutor' also fits here lmao. they aren't a huge fan of kakashi OR hound and think both of them are lacking moral clarity and the proper amounts of guilt. I think when Kakashi becomes Hokage they'd definitely start to contribute more and get along better with other parts... after meeting obito they take him off of the pedestal they had him on and start to redirect their sense of justice to helping the world instead of just keeping it all internal.

here's a communication chart, also. Hound and Kakashi communicate easily and confront sometimes. Kakashi and ████ can communicate but don't confront ( ████ fronts rarely in general) and ████ can send communication to Hound but Hound can't communicate back.
