It really is crazy the way anybody ever managed to push the idea that there is a real, tangible "transmasc erasure". If you look up books, comics, movies, plays, etc. starring a trans protagonist pretty much every single time they are going to be trans masc or TME nonbinary. You have some notable exceptions like Nevada, or Detransition Baby, but pretty much every one of those is going to be BY a transfem author telling our own stories. But they will swear that transmascs are being erased in media compared to trans women so you will go through a list of the top 50 trans books and top 10 trans films for pride and the top 8 queer comic lists and they will pretty much all be about a transmasc experience and you will be like. okay so I reviewed 60 pieces of media and 5 of them were interested in representing trans women and the rest were transmasc or TME nb what do you mean by erasure and they will look you in the eye and say with a full chest "I am jealous that you guys get more blood libel than us"

You will be like "what transfem representation??" and they will be like "that movie with the evil perverted male crossdresser killer or 'shemale anal blowbang volume III' ? " and you will have to explain that is exploitation not representation and they will still get mad at you.

I am thinking about this more because people are coming to me with REAL WORLD examples of trans men being erased from public life rather than media rep and it's like. Ok yes trans men are being ignored in medical studies. so are trans women (If you try to says its somehow worse for trans men all I know is that you have no trans women who trust you in your life because when we actually talk to eachother irl its clear we are both being ignored by the medical community. And no, medical studies such as "why are shemales such perverts" by Blanchard or Zucker or Ablow do NOT count as sound medical studies of trans women.). Yes trans men are being pushed out of employment by transphobes. So are trans women in greater numbers. Yes trans men experience violence (including sexual violence) at high rates, but trans women experience it at a higher rate than that. No transfeminists are claiming that trans men are not being targeted by transphobes, but when someone is walking around with a giant sign that says "KILL ALL TRANSGENDERS!" and your response is to go "Oh no think of the trans men!" SERIOUSLY worried about your feelings on trans women.
