Some of yall may have heard some of the shit that has been going on right now. I'm gonna give a quick run down of some of the stuff that has been happening. Note, this is not all, and it may never be all as much as I will try to update this.

(I am going to try and compile and briefly explain these as much as I can. There may be misinformation. Please inform me if I got something wrong.)

1) Racist Chinese Dolls.

There are these dolls in China that are being called "Natasha" baby dolls. These dolls are not only very obvious caricatures of black people, but they are being advertised as a "stress relief" in which the people who buy these abuse it in various ways.

This links to a video of a compilation of the various "uses" of the doll. There are more in the replies of the tweet. (Another link to the same tweet just incase)

2) The Mocking, Abuse, and Dehumanization of Black Children.

Apart from the aforementioned doll, there are apparently people going around mocking, abusing, and dehumanizing black children.

Some people have compared black children to the doll.

Others have been going into African countries and have found ways to mock, abuse, and dehumanize black children for clout.

3) Black people are going missing.

Black people, especially children and teens have recently been going missing at an alarming rate. Some of these same people are turning up dead, deaths being ruled as "suicides."

While it generally unknown why many of these people are going missing, many suspect that their disappearances, deaths, and even lack of coverage is rooted in anti-blackness.

The following is a list of black people that have been reported missing as of recently. Please note that this is not a complete list (it may never be completed due to the fact that many of these disappearances will still occur as time passes) this may contain inaccurate information. Please inform me if that is the case.

By the time you see this, some of these people may have already been found either alive or deceased. This post will be updated overtime.

It is also heavily encouraged that you reblog this with more links to recent cases of missing black people if you are aware of any that aren’t included on this list.

and for all of yall that are still figuring it out or aren't getting the support you deserve:

So my queerness is more worthy of protection than my Blackness, is that what we're saying? People talk about homophobia in the Black community, about how Black religious figures failed to make coalitions and hurt the civil rights movement, and there's value to that. But the other reality is that the wins the queer movement have gotten have disproportionately benefitted people that don't look like me.

If anything, this should be a part of the politics of the month! This IS on topic, we ARE the queer community, we always have been, and we have always been on the ground floor of every movement that pushed the needle.

But you wanted your fucking low quality corporate pandering more than anything else.

Fuck that, and you know that, fuck what pride has come to represent, and be used as a weapon against dissent.

There is a reason Israel knows that bringing up queer rights to camouflage their atrocities is worth putting money into. Because people hate spending time thinking outside themselves, especially when it comes to Black and Brown people.

DC fired a trans author because of right-wing pressure and spinelessness, but you think that the decisions they are making about queer rep are for us? You think that the organization who would do that so flippantly cares about queer lib any more than it cares about Black folk?

But this proves exactly why they do it. You will rush for any scraps they give, and then be complicit in being used as a shield for any other criticism.

As you may know, there was recently a DC Comics boycott as a part of the DCSoWhite movement since DC has not had a mainline ongoing solo with a Black lead for over 1200 days. You can read more about this here, here, here, and here. The boycott has been cancelled (link), but that doesn't mean we can't still show support for Black comic creators!

One of the things the movement called for fans to do was to "[Support] Black creators through independent and creator-owned projects." So this post is meant to provide tips on how to do this.

Check out other works of Black creators you're already familiar with

The Black comic creators you're already a fan of who have made comics for DC or Marvel have likely also made comics for other publishers too. You can usually find out about other comics they've worked on through their Wikipedia page, social media pages, and their own website if they have one. And it's a good idea to follow their social media to learn about any of their projects in the future!

Look through indie publisher websites

A great way to find out about indie comics is to check out indie publishers' websites. There will almost always be a page on their websites with all their comics so you can easily look through them and the creators will be listed so you can look into the creators too. This is one way to find out about Black comic creators who you might not already be familiar with.

The publishers that are listed as examples in the webpages linked above are Image Comics, BOOM! Studios, Vault Comics, Ignition Press, and Stranger Comics.

Check out existing lists

There are already lists online that specifically recommend Black creators to check out and comics by Black creators. You can also find recommendations and lists on social media. This is another great way to find out about Black comic creators you're not yet familiar with.

Speaking of lists, I would like to point you to this post by @bimboopo which includes a list of many Black webtoon creators which you can go check out!

You are a misogynist. Point-blank, period. You have bought into bioessentialist talking points that differentiate the sex castes as inherently alien to each other. This is the type of bio-logics upon which shit like pregnancy discrimination is built. "We're just recognizing natural differences" without any regard for how those differences are often socially, materially created, and legally reinforced. "We're just recognizing differences" without any regard for how those differences are being moralized; their recognition is not neutral. "We're just recognizing differences" without any regard for the fact that the whole worldview is an ad naturam fallacy.

Empires actively work against trying to "teach people how to fish," because they want countries dependent on "charity" from the empire and exploitative international trade. Bill and Hillary Clinton's actions in Haiti are despicable, but not unique.

I just think about that, sometimes. If she ever looked at herself in the mirror when she did her hair, and tried her hardest to make it look like Breha used to. If she ever looked at herself, her hair braided into a crown, just to see a glimpse of her mother looking back at her.

What democrats often forget is that what is "popular" does not exist in a vacuum. "Popular policy" does not exist out in nature for consultants, talking heads, and pollsters to "organically" discover. "Popular" is part of a feedback process that involves — and even requires — leaders establishing their positions first. Political discourse does not exist independently of or before our political leaders. There is no "center" to tack toward (that is not to say people who identify as "center" don't exist, only that what is considered "center" is created by shifts right or left; "center" is always relative) for gaining votes. Tacking toward some perceived “center” assumes voter policy preference exists before and independent of larger political discourse; it doesn’t. It also literally fails to pick up votes and only succeeds in pushing a political sphere further left or further right. What it does do, however, is prompt a base to switch their policies to align with their preferred leader.

Ex: A democrat has a base which supports minimum wage. To “court” supposed center-voters on the “other side” (who largely won’t vote for them anyway because they’re a “demonrat”), this dem candidate comes out against minimum wage, incorrectly arguing it is a “race to the bottom.” The democratic base who supports minimum wage hear this and change their mind; minimum wage is now bad, and the perceived center has now shifted toward “paying anyone for labor at all is immoral.” This phenom does not work, however, among members of a base for whom policy positions have hardened. A labor rights activist, for example, is going to be harder to move on the issue of proper compensation for labor, and an expert in anti-poverty programs will be hard pressed to support a policy which would worsen poverty. But for the median voter? The median voter often looks toward these “party-cues” for what they should support and how they should vote.

After a steady increase over decades, from 27% in 1996 to 71% in 2022, the percentage of Americans who support[] same-sex marriage has continued its downward turn. It now stands at 65%, after showing a [] decline every year since 2022. Notably, the decline in acceptance of same-sex marriage coincides with... the passage of Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law and the proliferation of copycat legislation.  

Similarly, the percentage of Americans who believe that same-sex relationships are “moral” has gone up since Gallup first asked the question in 2001, then tapered off after peaking in 2022, also with 71%. That number now stands at 64%.

Political affiliation plays a role in acceptance, per Gallup. While the numbers have overall gone down, the polling organization pointed out that the general dips are due to steep declines in acceptance among self-identified Republicans, with double-digit drops in acceptance in some cases. There has been a small drop in acceptance among independents, while LGBTQ+ acceptance among Democrats remains steady. Notably, Republican views on the morality of same-sex relationships now stand where they did in 2005.

Gallup’s polling is in line with similar surveys that have found a decline among American acceptance for LGBTQ+ people. In March, Pew Research Center published research which found that 39% of Americans believed that same-sex relationships are “morally wrong,” putting the U.S. in ninth place globally in terms of anti-gay sentiment... While Pew’s methodology did not include political affiliation, it did show that men were less accepting of LGBTQ+ relationships than women. People over 40 were less accepting than people aged 18-39 and religious people were less accepting than the non-religious.
