How exactly do I begin to address a cis friend who absolutely refuses to not misgender me and makes fun of my pronouns behind my back like I genuinely do not care who likes it or doesn’t but what’s the point in using them if everyone is going to follow suit in not respecting me? Even my wife spent a couple days talking about it behind my back complaining about how inconvenient it is but only just now got to telling me that she’s getting the hang of it and understands it’s not about her it’s about me which is true but like why is it a fucking debate anyway it CANNOT be that hard to say my name even if you think it’s too much like who the fuck cares if you say it 6 times versus once or twice it’s still not difficult. I have zero sympathy for anyone who can’t comprehend the concept of using no pronouns but I feel so fucking angry bc they were the first set of pronouns (or lack thereof) that I didn’t feel like ripping my skin apart with but now it’s a big fucking deal to everyone so I don’t even want to use them anymore. Genuinely what did I do to deserve this. Not even my own friends are a safe space.
