heeyh i see ur recent reblog (the incest one) and i left a comment a while back on that and i think maybe u'd benefit from hearing it too-
silly divider to separate this BIGG block of text
"hey i read the whole thing and while i sorta see where you're getting at, i still think its very much wrong. i myself am pro-paraphile / pro-kink (anti-contact & anti noncon & anti abuse, etc) and am alright with consanguineous relationships *as long as its 2 similar age consenting adults without a power imbalance* (no abuse, no grooming, informed , etc),,
okay, given that , just here me out here because my argument isn't going to be "its gross" or "it promotes grooming/abuse" because thats not what i stand for & second one just isn't fully true. okay so- the thing is, there is very damaging long term effects from inbreeding. while being disabled doesn't inherently make you a bad person , they're called disabilities for a reason- they impact your life negatively and , well, *disable* you. inbreeding , even if not noticeable side effects, can lead to a weakened immune system where you cant fight off disease as well. its different than two disabled people having children, and more like drinking/doing drugs while pregnant.
the argument against inbreeding isn't "oh they'll be weird!!" it's "they will quite literally die easier" . there has been plenty of children who are born from incest who really resent their parents for inbreeding because of the negative consequences from it. the argument you consistently make is how it's eugenics, however inbreeding isnt a good source for genetic diversity as it has a lot of harmful aspects to it."
"tl;dr, im against inbreeding not because im "oh so scared more WEIRD disabled people will get born" but because it causes nonconsensual harm to the child."
i think its worth mentioning i made this take later at night but i did look into it a little bit before deciding my answer / counterargument to this debate
there were a lot of genuine doctors in the comments saying similar things too. i thought the take was interesting , but i do think its very flawed and i hope you understand this too!
I somewhat agree about being against inbreeding, but I think the post has good resources nonetheless and highlights other important things.
