posting my opinions on that radnormal account as an anti-radqueer + anti-contact paraphile, proship/darkshipper, and pro-endo individual
tldr; i think its stupid. and thats putting it nicely tbh
im not going to get into shipping/profic discourse or endo discourse because iiiii… dont care about that. lol
i hate radqueers and pro-contact beings as much as the next guy but you are going to have a much happier experience online (and in general) if you 1. avoid them and 2. block/report them instead of engaging with them. the ideology that causes predation and rape is linked to serious cognitive distortions that a random aggressive tumblr user is not going to solve. they are, quite simply, people who need professional therapy / intervention.
my point is that you are not doing anything to actually help anyone. predators and rape culture is a serious, incredibly complex, large-scale global issue a simple tumblr account isn't going to solve. if you actually care about the cause, go support charities and organizations and real research rather than your dumbass callouts and tumblr posts saying you don't care if a group of people kills themselves.
also, let's address the paramisia, shall we?
not all paraphiles are disordered. paraphilia does not equal a paraphilic disorder. paraphilic disorders are, generally, defined as a paraphilia (abnormal sexual attraction) that causes distress/impairment to the individual, OR (a risk of) harm towards other beings.
if you believe all paraphiles are predators, you are not educated enough to speak about paraphilias. as mentioned previously, not all paraphiles are disordered, let alone predators. paraphilias are extremely diverse, and many can be enacted healthily between consenting adults. not all paraphilias lead to harm. not all paraphiles are a risk to other people. this includes those who are part of the "big 3" (zoos, necros, pedos). paraphiles can be asexual, sex-repulsed, choose to not engage with sex, avoid their subject of attraction, et cetera. just as many paraphiles have normal and fulfilling sex lives, or others who are able to interact with their subject of attraction without acting on their desires. predators are the issue, NOT PARAPHILES.
paraphiles are… everywhere. literally. BDSM and kink is paraphilic. anything deemed "abnormal" by society is paraphilic. objectums? they're paraphiles. they're known as objectophiles. people into feet? yup, they're paraphiles too. people who are a little too into, say, small boobs or small dicks, to the point it impairs their sex life? technically also paraphiles. the definition is extremely subjective but that's besides the point. my point is they're everywhere. paraphiles have existed all throughout history and will continue to. there's no getting rid of kinksters (probably because there's nothing wrong with consensual kink).
moving on from that, let's address the whole "i don't care if these people die" thing. i count that as supporting the death of an entire group of people (sounds familiar, don't it?) so let's get into a little bit of why the death penalty is ass. in no particular order…
what if the person's actually innocent? do you really trust the government and/or legal system to be able to accurately prosecute all criminals? do innocent people really deserve to die for the sake of the Big Bads?
it is extremely discriminatory. historically it has been used primarily against people of color, mentally ill folks, those with disabilities, poor people, and queer folks. you simply cannot trust the government to always use the death penalty in a non-discriminatory or just manner. if we put the death penalty to only apply to people you think are gross or personally dislike (which is entirely subjective by the way), i think you can see how quickly that'll be used for discriminatory reasons.
the death penalty is not reserved for the "most serious" crimes. in some countries, even non-violent crimes can cause someone to be sentenced to death. even juvenile offenders, as young as 14 (and possibly younger), have been given the death sentence before.
it is cruel and inhumane. death row itself is an incredibly traumatizing place to be, and people there are often subject to inhumane conditions. oftentimes, due to length legal processes, death row inmates are left in these shitty conditions for years. violent or not, criminals are still human and deserve humane conditions like the rest of us. these people are not "monsters" they're HUMAN BEINGS and dehumanizing them is not only unhelpful but takes away from how purposeful and impactful violence is.
why the fuck should the government have the power to kill its own people? is that not fucking terrifying to anybody but us?? governments are supposed to protect their people, and thus, their lives. killing them is a direct violation of that.
it does nothing to actually solve any problems. predators, murderers, et cetera are going to exist regardless of if the death penalty exists. if anything, the death penalty will make them harder to find, less likely to fess up, and make it substantially more difficult for victims who were close to their perpetrator to speak up about their experiences, in fear that their perpetrator will face the death penalty. it might be a shock, but many people don't want their abuser to die. sexual violence specifically is an extremely complex, global issue that a single fucking TUMBLR ACCOUNT is not going to do anything for. if you really want to deter predators, violent individuals, et cetera, you will want to focus on prevention/intervention and rehabilitation, not fucking killing and harassing them. everything happens for a reason, including shitty actions. it's basic cause and effect. and if something has a reason, it can be prevented. there's also the argument that killing these individuals actively prevents research on why rapists rape, murderers murder, et cetera. yknow, the exact thing that could help us prevent future violence. -_-
also. why are we ignoring the whole lynching thing. in their pinned. we do realize that has historically racist roots right. right guys. that it's also an unjust, unfair practice. and that public executions are 1. cruel and degrading to the person in question, and 2. oftentimes traumatizing to those who witness it. but also lynching is fucking racist.
shelix if you somehow actually see this: you are a 15 year old please go have fun and enjoy your youth instead of whatever this is. sincerely a very tired 20 yr old who has spent time researching the topic of sexual violence & paraphilias (its our spinterest lol), and who knows you're going to one day regret spending time wallowing in hatred and anger.
