The trap of mediocrity
Not everyone is meant to live a life on the edge. If you ask people, nearly all of them will tell you that they want to get more healthy, have awesome experiences and become more intelligent, but the truth of the matter ist that this is mostly bullshit talk. People don't want to live an exceptional life. How do I know that ? Cause most people simply don't live a life where they are going places and achieving things. If they would actually WANT to live a life like that, they would be willing to put in the amount of work that is neccessary to get there and they would already live this kind of lifestyle. People get stuck in their meaningless daily activites which stop them from becoming the best version of themselves. They will settle for less than they could accomplish just because of their fear of failure. And please don't get me wrong. There ist nothing wrong with living an ordinary life if that is what makes you truly happy. But if you have this calling deep down inside of you that is telling you to strive for more then you should instantly get up, write down your goals, make a plan, believe in yourself and hustle your ass off.

What to do when your family doesn’t support your lifestyle
Whenever you are aiming for changing yourself, your lifestyle or your career, you will find that people will try to hold you back. And don't get me wrong, this isn't just restricted to people who don't like you. It is in fact most common, that your closest ones will try to talk you out of your goals. There are a few reasons why this will happen and it is not because they don't like you or because they are evil. First of all, they will doubt you because they liked you for who you were and they are afraid to loose that person. Secondly, when you are starting to improve yourself, they will probably see that change is actually possible so that they are confronted with their own mistakes and failures. When you are taking on a path towards change, you need to accept that you will definitely loose some friends. They will tell you that "you've changed", as if this was something bad. People will call you a naive dreamer and they will also laugh at you. However, it is always the hardest part, when your family doubts your goals. I personally found for myself that the best solution sometimes is to keep your plans for yourself. Keep your "move up goals" for yourself or at least just tell them to a few selected people. This will help you avoiding unnecessary discussion and you won't loose energy trying to convince people of your ideas. On the other hand, you should tell everyone about your "give up goals". Meaning goals where you would like to quit something like smoking for instance. I suggest telling everyone about this kind of plans 'cause this will put leverage on you to follow through.

Habits that are killing your success
Sometimes it's not the things that we do, but the things that we shouldn't do, that are stopping us from creating a life of quality. The most common habits that will stop us from achieving great things are the following:
1. Watching TV. 2. Checking your E-Mail and Facebook several times a day. 3. Eating unhealthy food. 4. Drinking soft drinks. 5. Gossip. 6. Waking up late. 7. Spending time with negative people. 8. Doing drugs. Including alcohol and smoking. 9. Caring about pointless bul***it.

1.Clear Goals
You have to know exactly what it is that you want to accomplish and the why. This isn‘t just restricted to materialistic goals, but also to every other area in your life where you would like to become successful.
2.Hard Work After knowing what you want, you need to take action. Achievers are always action takers. Do what you have to do and always remind yourself, that there is no way around hard work.
3.Confidence Successful people believe in themselves even if no one else does. They may not be there yet but they to know that with disciline, hard work and persistence, they will finally reach your goals.
4.Discipline The people at the top won‘t stop taking actions just because they don‘t feel like doing it in the moment. They know that they have to do what it takes every single day without making any excuses.
5.Inner Circle Winners choose their closest friends very wisely. This doesn‘t mean that you should be arrogant or that you should avoid contact with average minded people. It simply means that you should cut out negative people and that your closest friends should be hungry for success as well.
6.Persistence Another very important characteristic of highly successful people is that they won‘t ever give up. Successful people will climb every obstacle, beat every enemy, overcome every failure and keep working until they reach their dreams.

10 ideas on how to improve your life immediately
When thinking of improving your life, you might ask for the best way to start. In fact, there are different ways to go about your journey to become a more successful human being. Most people simply won‘t start because they believe that they have to take on big actions in order to deal with their problems. As I mentioned already in other posts, the truth is that success is often times just the sum of small actions which you are doing on a daily basis. Therefore, I wrote down 10 things that you can do immediately without any financial requirements, that will improve your life dramatically if you practice them long term. Let‘s start !
1.Wake up one hour earlier than normal and use the free time to start your daily work schedule. Being an early riser gives you the power over your life back and boosts your self-worth. 2.Cut out unhealthy soft drinks and stick to water. 3.Use your free time in the evening as a chance to read a self-help book. You might do this as well in the bus oder in the train. 4.Workout at least every second day. You don‘t necessarily have to sign up to the gym but you can go for a run or have a short workout based on body weight exercises. 5.Try cutting out every negative and destructive influence for a whole week. By this I mean main stream media like reality TV shows, Facebook-videos and often times the radio as well. Instead, you should listen to audio books which will feed your mind with positive information and motivational ideas. 6.Save money. Next time you are trying to get good emotions by buying new clothes or something else, ask yourself if this is really necessary and save the money. 7.Talk to strangers. One of the main fears of human beings is talking to strangers. Next time you are at the grocery store, try out small talk with the shopman for instance. It might be weird the first couple times, due to the fact that you aren‘t used to it, but it will help you becoming more open minded towards others. 8.Watch motivational videos on Youtube ! These videos are a mixture of famous speeches, inspiring videos and motivational music. Whenever you feel sad or weak you should watch motivational videos instead of loosing yourself in infinite hours of listening to sad music or eating junk food. 9.Meditation. In order to become more present to the moment and experience your life much more intense, you can use meditation as a tool. Just sit down for ten minutes and put your focus your breath as well as on the present moment. 10.Write a journal. I order to build more self confidence you should try to keep track of your daily improvements by writing down 4 things that you did well each day.

Just do it
Have you ever been so scared of something that it would make you feel powerless ? Have you ever learned lessons by mistakes, which felt painful in the beginning, but they helped you growing in the long run ? Everybody wants to live a happy and fulfilled life, but the majority of people is never going to feel true happiness. One of the main reasons for people to be unhappy is their lack of courage and discipline. Remember back when you had your first day at school or at your new workplace. You probably felt some form of fear during those times. But are you still scared to go to your workplace right now ? Most likely not. So what is this thing that fears us but makes us stronger over time ? Human beings are feeling fear when they do something they never did before. This is what we call the idea of being out of our comfort zone. During these situations we don‘t feel particularly safe or comfortable, which means that we are put into a stressful situation. My intention is showing you how to use this principle for your own advantage and improve your life along the way.
What is your biggest fear ?
I want you to ask yourself, if you would die today, what would you regret that you haven‘t done ? It may be as simple as talking to your school crush but it can as well be something bigger like applying for your dream job or moving to a foreign country. Whatever your personal dream is that you didn‘t realize because of the uncomfortable feelings it might include: Just do it ! If you aren‘t able to do it right know, work for it. Do anything possible in order to get to the point of conquering your biggest fears. The fear of failure has killed more dreams than failure itself will ever do. It is, in fact, the failure that makes you stronger and growing as an individual. Remember how fast the ten last years went by and now imagine your whole life to blow by just like that. Do you want to lay in bed old and weak one day and ask yourself „What if…“ ?
The harsh truth
Most people won‘t ever do the thing they are afraid to do unless they are forced by someone else. They will rationalize their behavior with excuses like “ I might do it as well later“ or “ I‘m not int the mood to do this right now“. The problem is that most people will actually never attack their fears and put themselves outside of their comfort zone. This will lead towards procrastination and you will just coast through life without achieving anything significant. Avoiding to attack your fears may seem easy in the first place, but the fear will still be there as a shadow over your hapiness and you know deep inside that you won‘t ever live to your fullest without conquering your fears.
Which path do you choose
Consequently, you have to decide for yourself which path you would like to take on. Do you want to achieve great things in life or are you the kind of person who loves to chill and just coast through life ?. Always remember that you will either feel the pain of doing something new and being uncomfortable, or you will feel the pain of remaining the same. Additionally, you have to understand that there will never be an easy path towards great lifetime achievements, so don‘t even consider a shortcut towards success.
True self-confidence
Another great advantage you can get out of this concept is the power of self confidence. Self confidence comes from the deep knowing that you are able to deal with every situation, even if it might go wrong and especially if you feel pain during the process. Whenever you stretch out of your comfort zone, you will become a little bit more confident and this will eventually add up over time. The simplest way to build self confidence is in fact, constantly dealing with stressful situations and challenging yourself.
Besides telling you to conquer your biggest fears, I would also like to encourage you to stretch out of your comfort zone on a daily basis. It doesn‘t have to be something big. You may simply talk to a stranger about where to find the train station or you could wake up one hour earlier in the morning. You may also try out a new sport or cut out unhealthy food for one day. Doing something new every day will help you growing your self-confidence, boost your daily energy and make you a happier individual. Start small but whatever you do, there has to be this little resistance inside of that you need to overcome. So from now on, whenever you know deep down inside what the right action would be, just do it !
How to treat people
A few days ago, I decided to write my new article about an extremely important issue when it comes to live a happy life. The topic of „How to treat people“ means a lot to me, due to the fact that I have always been struggling with being empathic and making people feel better about themselves. A few months ago I decided to develop this kind of skill and it will still take me years to master this area. If you do not handle this problem you‘ll loose people who are important to you. Additionally, this won‘t just hurt yourself but also the person you lost. Therefore, I read many books and tried to work on myself during the last months, in order to become better at dealing with family, friends but also strangers. I have to admit that I still struggle from time to time, but my results have increased a lot over the past. As you can imagine, I am not an expert and I simply would like to share the things i could learn so far by working on myself at this particular subject. Generally, you should always scrutinize everything you read on the internet and then find out for yourself what works and what doesn‘t. The same goes for this blog. Nevertheless, I suggest taking these tips into consideration and trying things out before evaluating them.
1. The biggest rule when it comes to deal with people in general is in my opinion the fact that everybody wants to feel important and valuable to others. Dale Carnegie talks about this concept in his book „How to win friends and influence people“ which I highly recommend If you would like to improve your interpersonal skills (a book review will come soon on this blog). Whenever someone is offended by your words or actions, it means that you made them feel less important or valuable.
2. Be yourself. In order to cope with people always be yourself and don‘t try to be someone else. But don‘t get me wrong, you should always strive for being your best self. So don‘t use this as an excuse for not improving your character, but as well if you are trying to fake your hobbies, humor or other peculiarities, people will sense your incongruence and mistrust you.
3. Treat every single person with respect as long as they they don‘t attack you verbally or trying to put you down. Phrases like „Excuse me“, „Sorry for bothering you“ or „Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help“ are key in day to day life situations.
4. Don’t ever talk bad behind the back of others. Gossip is a big weakness in our humanity and you should‘t fall into the trap of trying to socialize by putting others down.
5. Always point out your own mistakes before criticizing someone. Doing this will prevent that the person ist going to be hurt. You should as well mention something that the person did well, so that he is motivated to take your critics just as an invitation to improve.
6. Show people who are important to you that you actually care about them. This point is a huge one. We are often times the least friendly with our family, partners and friends, due to the fact that we take them for granted. If you are a very busy person and you are not able to meet up with them, you can at least call them or send them a little text like „Hi, thought of you today. I am very busy in the moment but I just wanted to ask how things are going for you“. This will show them that you actually care and you‘ll get much happier with time by doing this.
7. Make people feel happy about themselves. Whenever you admire something about somebody, tell him or her without wanting anything in return. You should always give people sincere appreciation for what they do and what they are. Don‘t just give people random compliments with the intention of making them like you more. People will feel your dishonesty and this won‘t get you anywhere.
8. Listen. Sounds simple right ? In order to be a good communicator, I analyzed many conversations in different situations and I realized that everybody is actually just interested in himself. In fact, the most often words I heard were „my“, „me“ and „I“. Additionally, people aren‘t even properly responding to each other. Many conversations I heard were similar to this one.
A: „Dude, I hate dogs“ B:“Haha man I love them, dogs are so nice. I once had one“ A:“Nah a dog once bit me. I was so scared“ B:“My dog would never bite. I bought him as a baby“
Do you see the problem ? People are just focused on themselves. Try it out for yourself. Listen to some conversations and you will see that everybody is actually just talking about himself and that there is rarely someone who is interested in the other person. We call this low level communication. Next time when you talk to someone and he is making a statement about himself, ask him questions about it. Instead of telling your own opinion or story ask him for the why, the how or the when. Let people talk about themselves and listen carefully to what they have to say. Then, when they get the feeling that there is somebody who is actually listening to them, they will get interested in you as well. They‘ll ask you back and you will experience a much more enjoyable conversation.
9. Treat others how you would like to be treated yourself. Nearly everybody knows this quote but who is actually living it ? You don‘t even have to overblow this, just think of it in a simple way. Do you feel good when people forget your name ? Do you like it when someone makes fun of you ? Would you like to be barred by a group ? The answer to these questions might be no, so why do we then hurt others by doing these kind of things? Pull yourself together and start treating others the way you would like to be treated.
10. Ask others what your weaknesses in terms of dealing with people are. Everybody makes his own personal mistakes in dealing with people. Some people may be too arrogant whereas others simply don‘t listen carefully enough. Often times we don‘t even see our weaknesses and therefore you should ask close friends and family for their honest opinion. Ask them about your weaknesses and your best characteristics. Write everything down and don‘t get offended by any opinion. You should actually take it as a compliment that they think you can handle their honest view. Next, you will start noticing when you treat people wrong again and you are going to change.
How to develop a daily routine that leads towards success
-Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out-
Let‘s be realistic for one moment. Please put all your old beliefs, experiences and thoughts by side and try to follow what I am about to say. Do you think a fitness model for instance woke up one day with a six pack and huge arms ? Do you believe that an entrepeneur made one small deal and owned a 100 Million dollar company all of a sudden ? If you think closely about it, most successful people had to work extremely hard to get to their current position in life. A boxing champion didn‘t took boxing lessons for like half a year twice per week and then became the world champion. He probably had to train many hours a day around six times a week to get to that level.
It is the same in every single area of your life that you are trying to be successful in. You have to put in your time in order to succeed. If you want to loose weight, you‘ll have to keep your diet on point every single day. You also have to get your workout done day after day and it won‘t stop by the way. There are no shortcuts towards acheiving your goals and there is no magic pill that will take the journey for you. The payment for loosing weight will be pain, hunger, discomfort, sweat, less time and the list goes on. Additionally, you have to realise that this payement will be neccessary every single day maybe for years. The good side of the coin is that the beginning is always the hardest. Every new behaviour that you take on will be much easier after one month of doing it daily. Think of brushing your teeth for example. Do you study the pros and cons of brushing your teeth every morning and evening. No you don‘t, because you have formed a habit so trong that you don‘t even consider anymore not doing it.
Therefore, if you are trying to make an overall improvement in your life, you‘ll have to develop a daily routine with small little tasks which you‘ll you repeat day in and day out. We are what we constanly do. This means also that time managment has to be one big part of your life. Don‘t waste time doing things you don‘t need to do and start right now forming the habits that will lead you towards your goals. In order to help you developing your daily routine, I wrote down the following 5 essential tips.
1. Write down your goals and form the habits that will lead towards achieving these goals.
2. Get a planner. A planner will help you writing down all the things you have to do the next day and plan the whole day so that you do not waste any minutes.
3. Get up earlier. Most peoples excuse for a daily routine is that they are working a full time job from 9 to 5 and that they don‘t have the extra amount of time and energy to form the required daily habits. Therefore, form the habit of getting up for at 5 am for instance so that you can pursue your goals even before school or work.
4. Use every single hour of the day to keep yourself on track. You could for instance listen to audio programs while cooking, driving or waiting for the bus. You could as well look at some motivational online seminars instead of watching reality TV shows. Whatever your main time waisting habit is you should cut it out and replace it with doing something productive that will motivate you.
5. Look for people as friends who are going to encourage you with your daily routine and who will support you. You can even try to convince a good friend of yours to take on the same path, so that you can plan and develop your daily routine together. This will allow you to control each other and be you’ll under the pressure to following through.
5 basic tips to build muscle

The last two years have been one hell of a journey for me. I remember back when I was 14, many people would call me aneorexic and they would make fun of me. In additon to that, my immune system worked like shit, because of all the unhealthy food and sugar that I put into my body. All the pain of being humiliated, being sick and being weak was neccessary for me in the long run. I finally realised that time had come to take responsibility for my future. Most kids blame their parents for their failures but this won‘t get you anywhere. Being a teenager is about becoming adult. You have to grow up. You have to take care of yourself. Finally, I signed up to the gym and I started working out. After working out for about two years right now, these are the results so far.
In this article, I will give you some basic tips that helped me with starting weightlifting and building a decent basis of muscle mass.
Start with a full body workout.
During your first 8 weeks of weight traning, your main goal should be to get your whole body used to the movements.
Therefore, your workout plan shouldn‘t be switched during the first 8 weeks and every workout should include all muscle groups.
Use proper technique
Most guys, especially younger one‘s like me, will become very focused on how much weight they can lift. They will try to impress girls or their friends instead of working on their form. This behaviour will lead towards minimal muscle growth, due to the fact that you won‘t hit the muscles as precise as you would with good form and it will lead towards injuries as well.
Nutrition is key
Many in my gym are training nearly every day for about two hours but their physique simply won‘t change much over the year. One of the main mistake most men do is that they underestimate the importance of nutrition. Right now, I would say that I made around 70 % of my gains by good nutrition. How much you have to eat and what you got to eat depends on your body type and your main goal, so define your goals, get the information about nutrition that you need and implement it to your daily routine.
Sleep
Another main aspect of muscle growth which is overlooked by most people is sleep. It may sound simple but you would‘t believe how many guys totally lack at this point. While you are sleeping, your body is producing more amounts of HGH (human growth hormone), which will include muscle growth as well. So, try to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
The big picture
Finally, I‘d like to address to you the biggest reason why so many guys won‘t ever achieve the physique they would like to have. Most men won‘t achieve their desired body, because of the fact that they simply give up. The path may be too hard and it seems as if there would be no progress. Therefore, I‘d like to share some of my personal experiences with you. When I bulked for the first time, my body wasn‘t used to the amount of food that I had to put into my body. I actually puked around 4 times during the first month and I was almost close to choking every evening. Now this may sound very extreme but I can honestly tell you that the input always pays off. You have to create a habit, regardless how hard it may seem in the beginning. And you have to keep moving towards your goals even if you do not notice much progress during the first weeks. It is a very slow process and you have to find pleasure in pursuing your goals on a daily basis. Design your own unique lifestyle and stick with it. ‘Cause in the end, success is the sum of all the small efforts repeated day in and day out.

5 Ways to increase your Motivation
It is very common that most people start to take action towards pursuing their goals during situations that are either very uncomfortable or very inspiring. One example would be a guy who starts weightlifting after he broke up with his girlfriend. In this particular case, he draw motivation from an uncomfortable situation and this is actually a very good starting point.
The acutal problem lies in the fact that most men and women will eventually loose their motivation, stop taking action and they will fall back into their old medicore daily routine. Therefore, I‘ll give you 5 ideas on how to keep being motivated and make proper progress even when you are not in the mood at all.
Set clear goals and write them down
By doing so, you will actually have your goals black on white in front of you. Cut them out and put them in some place where you are forced to see them every day. You should read them at least twice a day, one time in the morning before work and one time before going to bed. This should help you keeping them in mind.
Start small
You are much more likely to get momentum, if you start off by going for small goals in the beginning. Let’s take for example the goal to loose 15 punds of weight throughout the year. You should always keep that goal in mind and read it out loud about at least two times a day as I mentioned before, but you should also be able to give yourself probs in the beginning. Therefore, I suggest having simple goals in the beginning as well, like for instance doing 15 minutes of cardio each day for about a week. Then when you reached that goal you are proud, you built a littlebit more confindence, and know you can set bigger goals. This behavior will lead towards constant motivation plus even your little actions will add up over time.
Books
As I mentioned already in other articles, reading is key for improving yourself. Do yourself a favour and buy a book about success, self-help or anything else that helps you becoming the person who you would like to be. Think of a book as a form of high quality information, that one person had to develop over a lifetime and know you are able to read that persons most intellectual and intelligent life lessons within a few hours. Reading will constantly feed you with new inspiring ideas so that you are able to stay on track easily.
Motivational Videos
How about going on youtube right now ? Then search for motivation and watch five of the videos that pop up. Do you enjoy watching them ? Sure, you do.These videos on youtube are a mix of motivational movie scenes, inspirational music and famous speeches. Whenever you are feeling tired or scared you should watch these videos to boost your drive.
Your social circle
In order to succeed, you should probably consider to let go of negative people and build a new social circle with people who put you under pressure and who expect you to do well.The quote „You are the average of the five people you surround yourself with the most“ doesn‘t exist for no reason. Find people who are passionate about life. Make friends with people who are better than you in at least one area that you are trying to be successful in. Building a new social circle that supports your personal growth doesn‘t just mean making new friends, but also cutting out the ones who put you down and who suck out your energy. I know this might sound harsh but in some cases there is no other way out.
Book Review: The way of the superior man
The book “The way of the superior man“, written by David Deida, was published in Canada in 2004. David Deida describes his book as a „Spiritual Guide to Mastering the Challenges of Women, Work and Sexual Desire“ but I would go even further and describe it as one of the best books ever written for guys who would like to live a passionate, adventureous and fulfilled life as a superior men. Therefore, I would like to show you some of the great contents of the book
David Deidas book conatins 51 different laws for men wich are seperated into 8 different sections. During the first chapter, Deida describes the overall way of the superior men in terms of his purpose and his life goals in general. The main content of this chapter is the idea of constantly stretching out of your comfort zone, taking responsibility for your life and your overall mission as a man. Among many other things, Deida describes that the most important thing in the life of the superior man is his highest purpose. He says that even the relationship with his women has to be subordinatet under his life mission. But don‘t get me wrong, you should totally love your women from the core of your heart but she has to know that you are moving into the direction of your deepest desires. The next chapters are all about dealing with women and managing your relationships. One particularly great idea is praising the qualities of your women that you want to grow. Instead of challenging her like you would do it with your male friends you should “feed“ her with good emotions. One example would be telling your girlfriend that you love her beautiful smile instead of telling her that she looks disgusting when she‘s mad in order to make her smile more often. Another geat rule David mentions in regard to women is not analyzing her mood patterns too much. Deida explains, that instead of trying to logically talk to her when she is in a bad mood, men should try to simply change her mood by giving her love. You could do this for example by hugging, kissing or dancing with her. Then after you‘ve changed her mood you can still ask her for the cause of her upsetness and help her by talking with her logically. The last chapters are mainly about the differences between male and female energy as well as they teach you to get in touch with your sexuality and body practices. Deida explains how men and women attract each other due to their differences and the polarity between their genders. Men and women are both equally respectable but they are not the same. Their body, their soul and their total essence are completely different. “The way of the superior man“ explains how to get in touch with your male energy in order to cope with the female essence of your women.
As you can see, David Deidas book is one of the most inspiring books that I‘ve ever read and I would totally recommend it as a book every men should read at least once throughout the course of his life. Additionally, this book is not just reserved for men. Even women can read “The way of the superior man“ in order to understand themselves and the behavior of their men better So, my final suggestion is to buy the book and find out for yourself how much you can still learn about life and your own deepest desires.
