in the end of the first episode we have High On a Rocky Ledge which is a song about some dude that spends forever struggling to be with the one who he loves only to find out that he has to die first in order to be with her (which yk,,, perfectly foreshadows what stede eventually has to do in episode 10) see: “dying to be with her wasn’t any sacrifice” which im confident describes stedes thought process because he ultimately had nothing to give up. he was never present in his old life to begin with and virtually everyone agreed that it was best that he left

((also the song title itself reminds me of lighthouse imagery but that might just be me))

in Perfect Day which plays at the end of episode 9, the line “you just keep me hanging on” is repeated often, which parallels ed’s (affectionately) shitty song in episode 10, also there’s an entire verse that goes “just a perfect day, you made me forget myself, i thought i was someone else, someone good” which. yeah. i think thats a good way to put how ed feels about stede

anyways most of the specific lyrics i mentioned above arent even in the audio that they used in the show but they still manage to match up so. perfectly. anyways can you tell that i really like this show
