It was one of those stormy nights that wanderer hated. He'd usually cuddle up to your corpse for comfort, the warmth and the familiar smell might be gone but it is still you

This night though he was still out. Your shared home came right into view as it was struck by lightening

He was instantly panicked and rushed to your room, this cannot be happening to you

When he entered, there was smoke everywhere. He was this close to losing it when he heard some rustling

"Wanderer?"

He actually started bawling when he heard your voice again. It's been so long, he almost forgot how it sounds

The first night together definitely was a LONG talk, he barely let go of you. He missed you so much

Only when he told you about how he kept your body from deteriorating, you really took a look at your new appearance. You didn't even notice that your limbs weren't yours, it is normal to feel stiff after laying in the same position for long after all

If you were alive you'd have vomited then and there

You felt complicated

He did what was necessary to preserve your body, which was the reason why you were granted a second chance to begin with

But also you look so different now, you barely recognize yourself. When you look into the mirror, all you see is some hideous amalgamation of... different people

Also, the hand he's been holding, the cheek he's been caressing, they're not yours. It definitely makes you feel weird.

You didn't know how to bring all of this up at first, you don't wanna sound ungrateful. Being reunited with him is really nice and you're glad he doesn't have to be alone anymore but all of this is just a lot

You did end up telling him that you think you look hideous now and he felt taken aback

Apologized for making you look like that in the first place, but also said that he thinks it's impossible for you to look anything less than pretty

Genuinely means it, if he loves someone the person automatically looks attractive to him

If you ever call yourself a burden to him he will shut that down fast. If anything he was the one that burdened you

In his mind, he is the one that caused you to feel like this now. If he hadn't tampered with your body, you wouldn't be appalled at your mirror image

But you also wouldn't be here

He will try his best to make you feel better about all of this, he understands that this is pretty hard on you. Dying and un-dying can't possibly be easy

If he has to give you reassurance every day, he will. It's out of his comfort zone but he'd do anything for you

Not taking any of this for granted, thanks the universe each day for bringing you back if only for a while

Hopefully you'll see his unwavering love for you and feel a little less bad about your looks

On another note, he will be way more protective over you than before

Bordering on overprotective

The first time around he wasn't able to keep you safe. Whether you died to an illness or an injury or anything else, he is not letting that happen again

So you will be living your second life more sheltered than the first one probably

Which you don't really mind since you don't exactly wanna flaunt around your new appearence

Neither of you has to eat or sleep now so that's nice for some extra together time

You will get accustomed to being looked at by him eventually

Touch takes a bit longer because the fact that he's technically touching someone else's limbs so affectionately makes you wanna cry still

You do eventually accept them as your own though

It just takes time
