In issue 7 it was more vague if Sonic and Super were different personalities, or if Sonic was just letting the power go to his head. Here, the former is essentially confirmed, and Sonic reveals he doesnât remember what happens when heâs Super. That fact doesnât play any part in this story, but it becomes much more important later. Anyways, the dust settles and itâs revealed that Super cooled the magma into a massive statue of Sonic. Iâve always wondered, why did Super create a statue of normal Sonic? Wouldnât he much rather have made a statue of himself?
In any case, thatâs where the story ends. Itâs honestly one of Kitchingâs weaker entries, and I think heâs talked a bit before about how he regrets this one. If Super Sonic didnât completely steal the show, nobody would remember this issue at all, and even then, itâs barely brought up in Super discussions, likely because he doesnât really do anything except make a lot of threats and stop a lava flow. There are some funny lines, such s Super Sonic calling Tails a whiner and Sonic saying that Tails occasionally has his uses right after saving his ass, but itâs a pretty dull story overall. Maybe if it was published during the period between Issues 11-17 it would be remembered better as a diamond in the rough, but the fact that itâs between Casino Night and the excellent Sonic CD adaptation meant it was never going to be one of the magazineâs standouts.
Ferran Rodriguezâs art is a massive downgrade from what we got in Issue 6, with the backgrounds being very bare-bones, and the characters looking worse than they did before. Itâs probably the ugliest of all his work on the comic. And thatâs all I have to say about the Sonic story.
I personally don't understand Shadow fans. I've seen so many of them say how hard it was being a shadow fan and that Generations was what they needed. When
-He got is own game
-Got songs for him that people argue are the best out of most of the OST
-He is basically overshadowing any kind of interaction in all forms of presentation now.
-Has arguably the most well written story of most other characters in the franchise-Most of, if not all of, the super hype moments in the series that are remember are of Shadow in some way or form
-There is more Shadow skins in various Sonic games then there of any other character combined
-He is practically THE sonic rival to a point where it makes anyone else who previously was or would be a rival pointless since its the most preferable
-Very obviously Sega's favorite
-Has more abilities to him then fucking Neo Metal Sonic does
-ALMOST got his own comic [which tbh yes I think it was unfair for it to be canceled. But not as unfair as Sage getting her own comic]
He's popular, He's been popular and always has been popular, Generations and the fact that he got his own year to back it up only made him more popular.
I Admit that Shadow is cool, I admit he's badass and that hes a decently written character.
But oh my god Im just tired of him being there and practically being the thing remembered in something the most, because sega most likely made it that way. I want other characters to get some kind of care to them, not their own game or series, but the kind of care that actually gives more to a character that you want to know more and remember.
I'm just so sick the most talked about thing of anything sonic related somehow being about Shadow

dipsy is my favorite teletubby because heâs green and he acts like he doesnât want to be there half the time. Also he is SUCH a cutie like look at him go
I think if we're gonna make "redemption" AUs for Metal we need to focus on the existential terror of being created with a specific purpose and knowing nothing else and suddenly being free and expected to choose things in a sea of endless possibilities.
It's terrifying and I want more of it. Sometimes freedom isn't the best thing. It can be distressing. Usually, it is, and it would especially suck in her case.
- the metadow guys (half projecting again but also this is just interesting alright)

You can ship every character ever, actually.
Yes, even an asexual character.
Yes, even an aromantic character.
Yes, even an underage character.
Yes, even a nonhuman character.
Yes, even a character in a canon relationship.
Yes, even a character uninterested in dating.
Yes, even a canonically dead character.
Yes, even an "evil" character.
You can ship every character ever, there are no exceptions. If you don't like that â scroll and block the people who do! Or, if you can't manage the very simple act of blocking/scrolling, just gracefully stop participating in fandom spaces.
As someone who is currently in high school, it pisses me the fuck off how adults donât seem to realize what bullying nowadays actually looks like.
Itâs not name calling. Itâs not tripping people on purpose. Its not making mean posts online.
Itâs people pretending to like you just to snicker at everything you do. Itâs people pretending to ask you out. Itâs random classmates walking up to you and asking overly personal questions. Itâs pressuring autistic and neurodivergent students into doing embarrassing things, and not listening to a no. Itâs making weird noises in front of the sound sensitive kid to fuck with them. Itâs laughing whenever you speak. Itâs misgendering people. Itâs obviously fake compliments. Itâs pressuring others into physical contact. Itâs âjust a joke, bro.â
And itâs impossible to report and so insanely frustrating because even though none of the adults recognize it, all the kids feel it.
Cishet peoples' feelings is collateral damage at best
Buddy if "let allies attend and participate in pride" reads to you as "what if excluding them makes them feel bad :(" and not "Shit Is So Fucking Hard Right Now, We Are Going To Flood The Streets In So Much Unity And Love That Fuckers Think Twice Before Screwing With Any Of Us" then I'm not sure what to tell you
1. Why someone is at pride is none of your business, and if you start harassing people about if they belong then you are the problem.
2. You can't always tell who is or is not cishet. By not gatekeeping you make the space friendlier for people who are not visibly or openly queer.
3. Friends, Family Members, Partners, or people who just want to show support to the cause are fine regardless of if they're queer or not.
4. I've been around here since before Ace Discourse. I require clarification as to what you mean by "cishet".
reblog if youâre anti censorship and against harassing real people over fictional characters
I find it funny how antis threaten to turn proshippers into the police but (at least in the U.S.) death threats, rape threats, and doxxing are all considered federal crimes and can be means for imprisonment.
In short, they have more chance of being arrested than someone drawing fictional brothers kissing
Yee. If you're gonna try to legally push anything against anybody, it's an idiot move to also not have a clean slate.

still cant beleive some antis are in their 30s and even 40s. that's waaaaaayyy past tantrum age.
One hard lesson I've had to learn over the years is that there's no age limit to tribalism and reinforcing cultlike cycles of shame and fear.
Insecurity is a well-known fallacy of childhood thinking and inexperience, but if you're infantilized enough by groups who want to control you even to the point of thinking for you, you will end up seeming childish even when you're old enough to know better, and that's the tragedy of high-control groups; It's an abusive relationship where previous victims become new abusers.
Christopher Hitchens famously said, "Religion makes kind people do unkind things, and it makes smart people say stupid things." Obviously, I don't think this applies to all religion, but it DEFINITELY applies to all cults, and not all cults are religious, even if they're informed by religious thinking, like the antishipping cult.
This is why critical thinking is so critical; Childhood indoctrination is a type of grooming, as grooming is a precursor to abuse that prepares a person to accept abuse. If you teach a child critical thinking skills, you can persuade them to believe whatever you can substantiate with evidence, but if you terrorize children with shame and fear, rewarding their submission and punishing their dissent, then you can make them believe whatever you want them to believe. There's no limit to the cruelty of childhood indoctrination.
The antidote to this abuse of power is real and proper education, which is why the right is so against it; It would compromise their power if everyone else was informed and united.
"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." âFredrick Niechzte
I'm just going to call antishippers pro-harassment and pro-censorship. Anti is too nice and fancop is too soft
(though antis scrambling to "but I'm not a cop bc cops are bad!!" is pathetic and telling)
Every time someone is afraid to tag into main tags because the fandom and/or the creators are anti proship an angel loses it's wings
Be spiteful!! Tag into mains!!! Do also content tag if things can be triggering but TAG INTO MAINS!!!! Tags are meant to be ADDED not removed!!
it's always entertaining watching antis pretend to know better than licensed professionals.
1: people can and do "sexualise their trauma" to cope. if a rape victim wants to use cnc to help them cope with trauma (e.g. moving on from it, recontextualising views on sex/themselves/their relationship to sex, or as a way of taking back control in a consensual and safe environment) they are fully within their right to do so. people cope with trauma in many different ways, and yes, some of those coping mechanisms may seem "icky" â but you cannot police how people cope with their own damn trauma.
2: were you there when this imaginary person's therapist told them how to deal with their trauma? no? then you don't get to comment on how they deal with their trauma, or what their therapist wants them to do or intends for them to do.
3: sometimes "exploring [trauma] safely" means fantasising about it/things similar to it, or "romanticising" it. that doesn't work for you? cool, but it does work for others. not all victims are the same, not all trauma is the same, not all coping mechanisms work for everyone. humans are extremely complicated creatures, and we'll all have different ways to cope â your experience is not universal.
4: sexual abuse exists. abuse is often sexual.
I don't like how SoA handles the characters but apparently Sonic Team gives really bad and vague notes. Pontaff were told to write the way they did and ST doesn't explain who the characters beyond their Sonic Channel descriptions to the comics writers which is why Ian doesn't know Amy is an otenba or Silver is... anything (he's still at fault for not paying attention to the games).
If we want things to improve on our side then we have to make the Japanese side have better notes (especially Iizuka, he only cares when people touch Shadow)
I believe it was Maekawa who stated that Sonic Team have an exhaustive internal document that outlines in detail each character's distinct quirks and traits. I don't see why they can't do a translation of it (If it's in Japanese which is very likely.) and hand it as a guide to writers.
>I don't see why they can't do a translation of it (If it's in Japanese which is very likely.) and hand it as a guide to writers.
They probably do and the writers are just fucking ignoring that.
What evidence do we have to support the suggestion that Sonic Team ISN'T providing extensive documentation and guidance about the character writing? Has someone FROM Sonic Team confirmed this? The only story we're hearing is from the shitty western writers who think they know better.
Remember that Sonic Team provided Dic with extensive art references and lore documentation about Sonic for the sake of making the Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog cartoons, including concept art for Tails drawn by Yasushi Yamaguchi, and Dic proceeded to completely fucking disregard all of it.
Unless you can provide corroborating evidence that Sonic Team is NOT providing this characterization info from a source that ISN'T these western writers who have repeatedly stated publicly that they think they know Sonic Teams characters better than Sonic Team does, then I see no reason to put any fault on Sonic Team whatsoever.

Everyone's overthinking this. Sex segregation in sports is just standard male resource hoarding. You have a club, which may or may not be labeled as for men, like bird watching (yes, really), which is only for men. Joining this club will give you access to the club's resources, like connections or equipment.
A women wants to join the club for access to those resources, and the members say, it's a men's club, so no. The woman makes all the various arguments, that she's pretty good at the activity for a woman, that she'll be even better with the resources, how can you know women can't compete if you've never let them, the segregation doesn't even make sense for bird watching, etc. etc. and the men will respond with "no, :) because the club is for men :) just make your own club :) or give up and just get over these silly distractions from doting on men :)"
So the women make their own association or club. Which has less resources and connections. It's just a trick to put pressure on women to rely on men, by design, in a extremely convoluted way. Women want access to men's spaces to get at men's resources, men want access to women's spaces to get at the women.
Yeah that's what it always seems like to me, minus the conspiracy stuff.
Gender segregated sports just feels like such antiquated sexism. It feels like we shouldn't have it anymore. But for some reason we do.
Here's the June wallpaper for Sonic Channel!
Hello. This is Hayane Tomoko! It's June, the rainy season. The damp air might become refreshing if a gust of blue wind blows...?
So this month, we'll be introducing wallpaper featuring Sonic the Hedgehog, the supersonic hedgehog whose birthday is on June 23rd!
Chili dog sommelier!?
What immediately catches the eye is the combination of black-rimmed glasses and a playful expression! He has a boyish charm, yet also a mature sexiness...it's kind of unfair, isn't it?
What Sonic is holding up is his favorite food, a chili dog! Could these glasses possibly be for judging chili dogs?! He might be wearing them to examine his favorite spicy flavor, appearance, aromaâfrom every angle.
And this is the item that caught their eye! With the Chaos Emerald flag even flying, it truly looks like a glorious first prize winner.
Sonic's expression seems to convey a sense of confidence, as if to say, "This settles it, right?"
Looks like I can't beat Sonic after all!?
Sonic is free-spirited and cool, like the wind. He's completely natural, yet even his casual gestures look incredibly stylish. And on top of that, he has a kindness that won't leave people in need aloneâhe's just so charming!
For example, what if this chili dog was a fake, planted by Dr. Eggman to trick Sonic ...?
Having seen through the trap, Sonic deliberately plants a flag and declares: "Hey, Eggman. You look perfect, but you might smell a little bit like industrial oil."
His overwhelming confidence allows him to manipulate even evil schemes with ease. That's Sonic for you!
As a fan of Dr. Eggman, I'm honestly frustrated that he's cleverly thwarted every time! But I think it's also interesting to see how Dr. Eggman's never-give-up spirit is nurtured with each setback.
I hope Sonic continues to do his best and cleverly stop Dr. Eggman's evil plans!
This month's top recommendation!
Please download this wallpaper and enjoy Sonic's playful side! On X, we'd love to hear your thoughts on the wallpaper and your guesses about the situations depicted, using the hashtag #Sonicatsu âŞ
I felt like Sonic, appearing as a chili dog judge, was confidently declaring it a pass!
Well then, see you next time!
