I love being dumb when watching mystery movies or reading mystery books, I have no clue who did it until the end, I'm falling for every red herring, and Im having the best time during the entire thing

the "father, can i ask you something?" scene is one of the best tonal shifts i've seen lately. the way the scene changes from being chaotic, messy and hilarious into something so serious and important is so well written and performed. you can literally see the shift in the energy when she asks father jud if he can pray for her, and when he tells her that HE is with her instead of god... it's so well done !! the movie does a great job at highlighting the importance of faith in some people's lives while also criticizing what is reprehensible about religion, without attempting to change benoit blanc's disbelief in the church and religion at all. pretty neat.

I love that Marta is unable to lie (without vomiting), Judd chooses not to lie (by only saying the truthful part), and Andi is the lie (she’s really Helen)

one thing that works about the benoit blanc movies as a franchise that has tanked other franchises for me (aside from the stupendous acting, clever screenplays with meaningful commentary, and sheer passion for filmmaking done by people at the top of their game) is that the movies aren't connected at all. yes i want 12 more of them. no there cannot be one single mention of any plot point of any of the other ones in any of them (and thankfully there never will be). there's no fatigue of having to keep up with 20 characters' storylines, or remember anything that has happened previously. it's a blank slate every time. plus! they all admirably possess the same distinct style (thank you, rian johnson!) but at the same time are vastly different between them, in sets, costumes, types of characters, interactions between them, etc. so refreshing
