cuteness is so important to me... if we don't have cute and fun things anymore then we don't have anything
no language should be mocked other than french
Birds is “oiseaux” in French.
No letter is pronunced the way it should.
And there are seven of them.
ITS PRONOUNCED “WAZO” AND YES, I WILL DIE MAD ABOUT IT
oiseaux hits every vowel in the french alphabet and manages to only be pronounced with 2 goddamn syllables
got vowels coming out the oiseaux
This will never not be funny and I will never not reblog it.

have any of you white antiracists actually engaged with an African culture? Like, seriously? Because y'all will go on and on about how racism is evil yadda yadda, then recoil in disgust when presented with African food. You guys are like "Africa is so Pure and Cultural and Ethnic uwu #freecongo #freesudan" and lump them all together into an amorphous mass of dark skinned people called "the Global South" then refuse to engage with any African culture in a non paternalistic way or understand the tensions between different cultures and ethnic groups because they are all the same right? I'm fucking tired of hearing "apartheid" when none of you listen to amapiano. I'm fucking tired of y'all blaming the problems in the Congo and in Sudan on the Jews. You can't white savior your way out of being uncomfortable and having to grow as a person. Also, stop speaking over Africans. They actually do have technology. I know a nice older Senegalese woman who was asked if she WORE CLOTHES in Senegal. Wtf people get it together.
ps. Don't think I don't know how you are more uncomfortable the more dark skinned someone is. I saw how white "progressive" queers treated my dark skinned Nigerian friend. Y'all get weirder the more different someone looks from you, I mean look at how you lighten the skin of Black people in your fanart. Once in your life try being the only light skinned person in a room full of Black people just so you can feel how they feel on a daily basis.
Also nobody talks about how fears (really excuses) of "cultural appropriation" or maybe potentially making a mistake prevents white people from decolonizing their brains from hegemonic white wasp culture and ideals by truly engaging with African cultures and worldviews, because moral purity is more important than genuine human interactions. And then they use this as a way to hide their racism and discomfort with African cultures. Ex. "I wouldn't want to learn that dance or listen to that music, it's ethnic, so therefore I'm committing (the sin of) cultural appropriation", when really as long as it's done in a respectful and genuine way, most African people I've interacted with from various countries are pleased (sometimes thrilled) that I made the effort to learn their dances and eat their foods and wear their everyday clothes. If you offend someone accidentally, just apologize and learn. It's not that hard. Remember these white activists are secretly super white Christian they've just applied the same mindset of their conservative relatives towards social justice. They still have the "sin" mindset.

artistsuniversum: “Kathin Marchenko is a textile artist and designer known for her expressive embroidery on delicate tulle fabric.
Using a "painting with thread" technique, she creates portraits, anatomical forms, and ethereal figures that seem to float within wooden hoops, blending craft with fine art.”

As a Greek, in response to the current controversy about Matt Damon being cast as Odysseus, I'd just like to share that one of the moments that changed my brain chemistry as a kid was reading a novelized version of the Odyssey and coming across the following description of Odysseus when Circe sees him for the first time and thinks he's hot: "his hair curled like a clematis and his eyes were very brown".
So may I present my own casting choice for Odysseus:
Excuse me???
you are right and you should say it.
Is this the face of a man who would put his own infant in front of a plow to avoid going to war?
Absolutely not
You know who would try that shit?
Is this the face of a man who would defy the very gods to get home to his wife?
You know who would defy the gods just to show he could get away with it?
The last thing Penelope's suitors ever see:
