Ingredients: 8 uncooked manicotti shells. 1 pound ground beef. 1/2 pound Italian sausage. 1 small onion, finely chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon dried oregano. 1 teaspoon dried basil. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 1 24 oz jar marinara sauce. 1 cup water. 1 15 oz container ricotta cheese. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish.
Instructions: Cook manicotti shells according to package directions; drain and set aside. In a skillet, cook ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is browned and onion is tender; drain excess grease. Stir in oregano, basil, salt, pepper, marinara sauce, and water; heat through. In a separate bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses. Spread 1 cup of meat sauce in the bottom of a greased slow cooker. Fill each manicotti shell with cheese mixture and place in slow cooker. Pour remaining meat sauce over shells. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until heated through and bubbly. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
