big shane hollander fan (can you tell from my blog name?) so i'm going to say this with love and empathy in my heart: shane is an nhl player. he has witnessed people throwing around homophobic language and racial slurs and misogynistic shit for most of his life. most likely, he's rarely or never pushed back against it.

he has definitely been on teams with dallas kent types — they are on every. team. only some of them get called out and even fewer face any consequences.

even after the accusations against kent came out, shane stayed silent. ilya stayed silent.

they talked their shit privately, then put their heads down and got pucks in deep and gave it 110% and left it all on the ice like any other nhl player.

then, towards the end of the long game, they kind of confront crowell at the all star game. they DEFEND TROY. they literally both say to the nhl commissioner that they think troy posting about sexual assault is a good thing.

so, you know. take that into consideration when you're theorizing about how shane reacts to troy as a teammate.
