also the fact that shane is already awake and smiling up at ilya when ilya wakes up and then when ilya sleepily blinks down at shane and says good morning shane smiles even bigger and then when ilya says i like you shane looks down and then up and smiles says i like you too and then when ilya gently guides his head onto his chest he's still smiling all soft and sweet and serene and it's the most beautiful thing like imagine being ilya and shane smiling softly at you being the first thing you see when you open your eyes the morning after you rested your head in his lap and spilled your guts and you're at his cottage and it's all new and a little bit terrifying and then you wake up and he's already smiling and you love him so fucking much but you don't know if you can tell him that yet so you tell him that you like him because you do you like him so much and he needs to know that and you need to tell him because you've been keeping it hidden away on the tip of your tongue for so long now and he's beautiful in the morning light and your brain is barely functioning beyond shaneshaneshane and so you tell him and he tells you he likes you too and then you fall back asleep for a few more hours all tangled up and warm and safe
