Because every single one of the christians that paints themselves as "the good ones" always maintains this "no true scotsman" attitude towords Christianity. Instead of accepting that their religion has been monstrously evil for 2,000 years, and is responsible for the majority of the world's most horrific crimes against humanity for that entire time, including mass forced converstion, war, torture, countless genocides, pretty much all of the world's queerphobia, and 400 years of colonization, they just dissmiss all of it as being done by people who "weren't true christians."
