What’s your approach to Keptolo? Things that you wanna explore about this particular drow god?
My approach to Keptolo is similar to the way I view Lolth: like an abusive parent. If Lolth is the all consuming mother who wants "what's best for you", then Keptolo (for me) is the neglectful or even absent father.
Keptolo is a god who wants to do Lolth's bidding. I 100% vibe with the (possible) lore where he was a mortal drow man who was just SO loyal to Lolth, that Lolth took notice and made him a god. (Vs he was always a part of the pantheon)
His powers aren't even really his own, they are siphoned off of Lolth. Which means if she gives, she can take away.
Keptolo wants what's best for Lolth (and Keptolo), even if it means going against his own interests (the sexism of it all as an example).

In specifics of how I plan to angle him in Elendar's story, I want Keptolo to be attentive when things are new. And this is just my own flavor, but he loves to flourish and revel in giving his Chosen and members of his church his powers. He loves just casually flinging charm spells like some sort of perverse Cupid. (And Lolth of course can and will mess with him about his charms. I have plans for that one. ☺️)
But eventually that newness rubs off, the toy gets boring, so he starts neglecting it. He still gives them powers of course, but he visits less, he speaks less to them. And part of this for Elendar is due to the (unavoidable) Spellplague, and the rest is Keptolo simply lost interest. He got what he wanted, time to move on to the next hot young thing. Except he still wants and needs to control Elendar.
So when Elendar gets thoughts that maybe the surface isn't SO bad, when Elendar fucks up in his House that is absolutely a death sentence, he needs to get his less than charming little Chosen back in line.
Which is where Veldrin steps back in.
Ultimately, I want to explore what it feels like for Elendar to feel like he's on top of the world and then be completely isolated and abandoned partially through no fault of his own. I want Keptolo to butter him up and be so sweet to him, but when he acts out and breaks free, Keptolo has to be reminded that oh yeah, he had a Chosen. Shit better get that stupid little twink's ass back in line. Lol
Hopefully this answers the question. I have a lot of thoughts on Keptolo but words are spaghetti sometimes. 😔
