Be open and honest about liking your wife, liking spending time with her, and not being resentful of the shared work of building a household. Stand up to your buddies. Tell them mocking isn’t cool and you don’t want them to do it anymore. Challenge the other men in your life to be better men. If you know the person well enough that they’ve given you the full history of their coming to identify as trans, you can also say “back when she was still identifying as male” if it’s relevant to a story of internal thought process. Otherwise go with “before she came out”.
