for d/Deaf people reading this: I am HH but only recently Deaf so I am mostly speaking from that perspective and things I’ve heard from others in the Deaf community. If I am wrong on any point let me know. reblog this with corrections or simply send me an IM.

for hearing people reading this: like I said, my experince is incredibly personal as are most people’s navigation of Deafhood or deafness. don’t take this list and just assume it’s law. this is only tips. most of all be respectful to the individual.

It’s been a rough five years a I never really stopped coming out. I had to explain to strangers on the internet- to people who ask me about what my “girlfriend” is doing, etc. But at least I don’t have to hide who I am anymore.

I know today is kinda stressful, fireworks, family gatherings, etc. But for me it’s something more, it’s a bit more special when I’m sitting here and look at the progress I’ve made.

is super nice ??? genuinely a wonderful person in every way. i can and have talked to him about everything and anything under the sun for almost four years now, and i cherish every second i’ve ever spent with him.

we used to do phone calls ??????? we should bring those back
