The vast majority of conservatives think of themselves as underdogs being repressed by the government/the elite, and they value personal freedom (specifically their personal freedom, they don’t care about other people). The will almost always agree with leftist points if you can find a way to blame the problem on their vague enemies (useful, since rich people are the root of most problems), and tie it back to their ability to say fuck everyone else. NEVER appeal to science, theory, logic, or human goodness. Make it seem as if you are a paranoid lunatic who trusts no one. They love it.

I’m actually glad I read 11/22/63 after watching the tv adaptation because if I read the book first I would have just gotten hung up on everything that the television show changed and I would not have enjoyed it as much.

#Suffice it to say I was shocked to find out Bill was only a in the book for a few pages. Or that Jake kills Frank Dunning twice.#I honestly preferred Deke and Miz Mimi’s relationship in the tv show compared to the book because it felt more compelling.#I liked it better when she was Black and he was white because the fact that they couldn’t be together made their love more believable.#Miz Mimi was a much less interesting character when she’s just some white lady who gets married and then dies.#Please forgive my rant about Miz Mimi but I had to say it somewhere.#I really liked the book’s explanation that changing the past is what caused the dystopian timeline #Because I really doubted that JFK (or any other individual for that matter) would have changed things that much.#11/22/63 #11.22.63 #jake epping #sadie dunhill #(I’m personally of the belief that if JFK lived he would have just done the same things LBJ did but slower)
