It's quick and easy and could save a life. My office reached 31 Celsius today. It was not the hottest office in the building. We do not have any fans for electrical safety reasons. There was an emergency ice pops run at lunch, which sounds funny but we were genuinely concerned our pregnant colleague was approaching heatstroke and the official guidance is to 'open a window'. Heat kills! Outdoor and manual jobs have it even worse right now too. I know I'm lucky to be able to be sitting down with free access to water during this!

Really wish we'd, on the left, stop laughing and assuming this is ACTUALLY about strippers. I'd be willing to bet this ISN'T about some one with the actual job of stripper being somehow hired and sent to a school, that indeed DOESN'T happen - instead it will be used to target any female teacher who, like, wears a bikini on social media one time. Anyone who thinks ladyshinga might be off track, here's the breakdown.

Actual bill name: Stop the Sexualization of Children Act.

Purported purpose: "to protect children from being exposed to explicit material in the classroom".

How it's sold in the press: "Ban strippers and porn from classrooms!"

Actual text of the bill: Expands the meaning of "sexually explicit content" to include the words "or involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism".

Not and. Or. Meaning "involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism" is in and of itself enough to be classified as sexually explicit.

Actual result: Illegal to mention the existence of trans people or admit to being trans in a classroom under threat of being prosecuted as a child sex offender.

Every time I go over one I need someone to help hold my chair and get me over it. Even with that support it hurts like Hell and has caused whiplash injuries for me in the past. It’s also very unsafe for others because even with support I cannot 100% control the angle my chair will end up lurching over it (and my chair weighs over 150kg without me in it so it’s not something you want to collide with). It’s also terrifying and makes noises that make me very concerned for my chair’s structural integrity.

If you want your event to actually be accessible to wheelchair users then consider using something more like this:

ID: the same kind of cable cover but it’s fitted with a much shallower ramp with the international symbol of access embossed on the black plastic. The ramps are about a foot long on either side of the cover /end ID

this is not to say porn is bad, tbc. i just wasn't a fan as a teenager of being treated like it was impossible to look at bodies like mine non-sexually. frankly i'm not a fan of it now either lmao. i keep kind of thinking about how so many female protagonists are canonically flat or small-chested girls/women who textually wish they had larger breasts, but i can't remember the last time i encountered a protagonist with large breasts where that fact wasn't meant to be sexual. what is up with that dynamic and how do i destroy it

it's like... in order to be accepted as a woman, the character has to desire the idealized form of The Perfect Woman (or if she's a #feminist, reject and detest that same idealized form, but the focus on it is often still there). but in order to be a non-pornographic protagonist, she can't attain it. the moment you have a large enough chest you don't really get to be a normal character anymore, you have to go to sex world. idk. probably someone better read than me has written some sort of papers on this. idk what search terms to use though
