I will be tagging every instance I talk about the show with #pjo Disney plus and going forward on posts related to episodes that are less than two weeks old #pjo tv spoilers. However while the tv show has reignited my love for this fandom, I fell in love with the characters in their book form. (I mean my icon is literally a character we donāt meet till book 3) I will continue to talk about all the books that have been released without tagging for spoilers unless making a direct comparison to the show. I would love suggestions for tags that differentiate between comparing where the series is currently to a similar place in the books vs comparing tv series to books as a whole.
In general, Iām not a big fan of spoiler culture since I feel that if a story is not worth reading/watching unless youāre completely surprised by the twist, it was probably a bad twist. However I understand that a story is best experienced instead of merely told to you, so Iām trying to find a system that will work for everyone and I can maintain.

I won't lie to you I AM a little fond of those "mortal au poseidon is a millionaire and finds out about percy and takes custody of him" fics but they're always like sally was murdered by gabe or died in an accident or something equally sad. I want one that still keeps the base plot of the lightning thief. just imagine how hilarious it would be if random rich guy poseidon turns on his tv one day and sees that 1) the woman he cheated on his wife with is missing in a mysterious car explosion and 2) her 12 year old who is being labeled a domestic terrorist looks exactly like him. the olympian family pr firm is going fucking CRAZY.
imagine. your wife and kids are finding out you had an affair from CNN. your ex's husband is on fox news trashing a 12 year old you just found out about and saying the 'evil' in him must've come from your side of the family. the 12 year old in question has just blown up a national monument. hera is threatening you at knife point in the emergency family meeting. you are begging your arch nemesis athena to defend this random 12 year old in court and she's refusing until she sees news footage of HER 12 year old daughter at the crime scene and frantically calls her baby daddy. conservatives that were already big mad about a powerful and rich family from another country being so entwined in american politics are having a fucking field day. you just wanted to run your silly little marine life passion project in peace.
when percy's giving his 'here's gabe's phone number' interview at the end the reporter follows up with 'do you think your olympian family has done enough to protect you in this ordeal? why would they not publicly defend you and state your innocence? how close are you to your father?' and poor percy is just like. .what.
percy on live television finding out his dad is 1) alive 2) insanely rich and powerful and 3) has an evil father who just orchestrated percy's kidnapping despite literally no one knowing he existed prior to this
(and also 4) desperately trying to work out from context clues whether or not the cute girl he's been stuck with all month is his cousin or not)
I raise you: Sally was dating That Guy specifically because something about him Protected Percy. So. Who did *he* fuck that makes the Olympians and their enemies all look the other way?
Not to make Gabe smart because I canāt imagine him pulling anyone cooler than Sally Jackson. But what if Kronos was always a problem in the background? So, Sally assumed a new identity with fake documents. How did she get the documents? Gabe made them. Weāll ignore that this opens up a million other cans of worms. Additionally, since if Gabeās only experience with the Olympians is Kronos, heād be weirdly justified in thinking the Olympian side of the family is crazy.
Not so fun answer is just Sally needed health insurance.
percy deciding to go home for the school year at the end of tlt does feel like a direct parallel to turning down immortality at the end of tlo to me. hereās a chance to simplify things, to forsake your mortal life, to throw your whole self into the world of the gods. to which percy says no thank you, i love my mom
I realized I never posted this future canon story. It's time for some Chase family drama!
~
It was set to be a real Chase family Thanksgiving. Fred was coming down for the long weekend, and Bobby and Mathew were joining too with their partners.Ā
āAre they good with kids?ā Percy asked.Ā
āI donāt know. Neither has any,ā Annabeth said, helping him plan the grocery list and keep track of what Sally was planning to bring. Theyād volunteered their apartment to save on the hassle of getting the four girls out the door day-of, but it was now an added stress.Ā
Percy liked Annabethās brothers, although he didnāt know them very well. Heād met them in passing a few times, including at his wedding where theyād been invited to be groomsmen, and Percy had been Annabethās āplus oneā to Bobbyās wedding last year. His wife was a beautiful Singaporean woman whoād introduced herself as Esther. Matthew was bringing his boyfriend too. Brian? Percy was pretty sure that was his name. Heād check later. Brian was new. Percy was pretty sure heād never never met him before.
He was happy to see the three siblings make an effort to reconnect finally. Really, Annabeth didnāt have any personal issues with her brothers. Now that her dad and their mom were divorced, things seemed a little easier, too. She could invite them and her dad down for holidays without worrying about her step-mom joining.Ā
But it didnāt mean the Chase family dynamic was perfect.Ā
āI hope this ā¦ā Percy trailed off. Annabeth anticipated the rest with a sad smile.Ā
āIsnāt a total fucking shit show?ā Annabeth guessed.Ā
āYeah,ā was all Percy could say.Ā
āMommy,ā Nella ran up to them.Ā
āYes, baby?ā Annabeth asked.Ā
āCan I show Rosie Ariel?ā Nella asked.Ā
āThe movie or your doll?āĀ
āThe movie!āĀ
The gloomy day had kept them inside. Percy and Annabeth tried to entertain the girls with crafts as much as they could, but it was looking like movie time was over-due.Ā
āOkay,ā Annabeth said. āDo you wanna build a fort?āĀ
āYeah!ā Nella said. āFort! Fort! Fort! Fort!āĀ
Soon, Sophia and Olivia were in on the chant. Annabeth kissed Percy on the cheek and left him to the meal planning as she went to build a blanket fort.Ā
~Ā
Bobby and Mathew were a relief. Mathew was an engineer, and he was keeping Sophia entertained with his iPad, showing off pictures and diagrams of different designs, while his boyfriend played Bluey with Olivia and fed her small pieces of cheese. Bobby was a literature professor, and he was telling Nella the plot of The Count of Monte Cristo in detail while his wife helped Percy and Sally around the kitchen.Ā
āSheās a great cook,ā Bobby said of Esther, who did Percy the incredible favor of preparing sweet and regular mashed potatoes.Ā
When Nella didnāt have Bobbyās complete attention, he and Paul had some riveting conversations, it sounded like, about nineteenth century American and British literature.Ā
Annabeth blessedly had nothing to do but sit on the couch with Rosie in her arms, and occasionally talk to Mathew about the building projects they were working on. The dress Nella had picked out for her a month ago fit comfortably, and the buttons made it easy to breast feed. She just sat with Estelle who, when Rosie wasnāt eating, was holding her niece or trying to take Rosie away from Annabeth.Ā
āI wanna hold her as much as I can, if this really is my last niece,ā Estelle said.Ā
āAre you officially done?ā Fred asked Annabeth.Ā
She nodded. āFour seems like a good number, donāt you think?āĀ
āI think so. Iād always wanted three, personally,ā her dad said, sitting next to her. āGot what I wanted.āĀ
Annabeth didnāt push back and argue that he had, in fact, not really raised three children. But it was way too early into Thanksgiving to pick fights.Ā
~
Dinner was easy. Nella ate four servings of mashed potatoes and two dinner rolls, and a little bit of turkey. Olivia asked for the turkey leg, and was given it. Annabeth had a picture of her with the big thing in front of her face, chowing down on it.Ā
āThose are the viking genes!ā Fred said.Ā
Nella gasped. āWe need to show grandpa How to Train Your Dragon!ā Nella announced.Ā
āThat movie is awesome!ā Mathew agreed. āDad, youāll love it, itās got vikings.āĀ
āAnd dragons!ā Nella said.Ā
āWe can watch it after dessert,ā Annabeth promised, shooting a glance at her dad that said you donāt need to sit through the whole thing, but please indulge her.Ā
āDo you like that movie more than The Little Mermaid?ā Fred asked.Ā
āThe Little Mermaid has songs and this one doesnāt,ā was Nellaās answer.Ā
Fred looked like he was about to say āThat doesnāt answer my question,ā but Annabeth shot him another warning glance.Ā
āWell, it sounds great,ā Fred agreed.Ā
~
The families piled into the living room together, dragging in kitchen chairs, pillows, and blankets to watch the movie.Ā
āI was Astrid for Halloween! Nella was Hiccup!ā Sophia told them. āMommy made the costumes herself.āĀ
āI was a hot dog!ā Olivia said. āRosie was a lobster!āĀ
Annabeth showed her family some pictures, and got a few good awes out of her family and in-laws.Ā
Percy spent a good bit of the movie cleaning up and packing away left overs, but when he came to sit down, he found that Nella and Sophia had saved him a spot on the floor between the two of them. Olivia was already asleep on the floor in front of them.Ā
Percy maneuvered himself between them, resting his back against the couch by Annabethās legs.Ā
Nella clung to her Toothless plush in her arms as Stoic started to yell at Hiccup. Percy felt his daughterās head rest against him, and he pulled her in extra close.Ā
āItās okay,ā Percy assured Nella.Ā
āIām glad daddies arenāt mean in real life,ā Nella said, innocent and ignorant to the way her words settled over the people in the room.Ā
Percy gave his girl a big, big squeeze and tried hard not to cry in front of his in-laws. āI love you,ā Percy mumbled into the top of Nellaās head.Ā
Percy for his part knew a fair few things about mean dads. The closest thing he had for most of his childhood was a man best described by his smell. And Annabeth --Ā
āMe too, baby,ā Annabeth said, quietly.Ā
Percy looked back at her and could see she was also trying not to cry. Bobby and Mathew were looking at her and their dad. Paul was looking at Sally, and Sally was looking at Percy - apologetic in her own right for his bad dad experience. Fred was looking guilty into his glass.Ā
āIām always gonna be proud of you, and love you, no matter what,ā Percy told Nella. He reached over to Sophia and booped her nose, as if to say you too.Ā
Nella just snuggled closer. āI know that. Now shhhh. Everyone shhhhh.āĀ
āShe knows that,ā Percy heard Bobby whisper to someone.Ā
A minute went by, and then Fred broke the silence with an awkward: āI am proud of all of you, and I do love you all.āĀ
Percy met Paulās gaze. It was time for the happy Jackson clan to move on, Paul seemed to be telling him. Seems like the Chase family has quite a bit to work out.Ā
āLetās pause for a second?ā Percy said to his girls.Ā
Paul, Sally, and Estelle did take the time to say goodbye, hugging all of the girls who were still awake after turkey.Ā
Percy met his mom in the kitchen to hand her left overs, and she pulled him in for a tight hug.Ā
āI am so proud of you, Percy.ā It sounded like she was about to cry.Ā
āMom, itās okay --āĀ
āI didnāt give you much of an example of a father. But youāve turned out to be so great.ā She pulled away and Percy could see tears on her face. He wiped them away.Ā
āI didnāt need a dad. I had you. That was plenty. And anyway, Paul --ā he grabbed his step dad who was coming in to help, āset the perfect example of being a girl dad for me in my late teens.āĀ
Paul beamed, proud of himself. āWell, look, I admire your parenting. You two have got this thing really figured out.āĀ
āThanks Paul,ā Percy said. āLetās get you guys some left overs.āĀ
~
ā--I never wanted things to go the way that they did,ā Fred said.Ā
āDaddy, please, not now --ā Annabeth tried, bouncing Rosie even as she argued.Ā
ā-- I think itās a good thing if we talk it out while weāre all in the same place,ā was Bobbyās argument.Ā
āBut not on a holiday --ā Mathew tried.Ā
ā-- And not in front of the kids --ā Annabeth said.Ā
āGod forbid anything corrupt your perfect kids --ā one of the twins said.Ā
āWhat the fuck? Sorry for trying hard to make my kidsā childhoods better than --āĀ
āThatās enough, all of you --ā Fred tried with no success.Ā
Percy stood with Brian and Esther, watching the chaos for a second.Ā
āYour kids are in their bedrooms,ā Brian said.Ā
Instead of checking on them, Percy stepped between the warring Chaseās. As a high-school teacher, he had plenty of experience stopping adolescent conflict. How hard could generational trauma be?Ā
āHey,ā he tried, ālook, look,ā he got them all to quiet down. āWhat Iām hearing is that you all have a lot of built up feelings about your family dynamic, and how it feels like, for Bobby and Mathew, like Annabeth didnāt want you in her life for a while, and how for Annabeth she felt excluded from the family. And Fred, how you have done your best, but you know youāve let your kids get hurt,ā that was another trick, the strategic passive voice. āI know that holidays are hard, especially when theyāre with family we havenāt seen in a while. Thereās a lot we want to work through together. That makes total sense. But yelling about it right now wonāt fix it.āĀ
Annabeth was crying. She knew his mirror-empathize-validate trick, and was onto his strategy. She decided to break the silence first.Ā
āIām sorry,ā Annabeth said. āBobby, Matty, itās been so great having you here, and I really want you in my life. Iām ⦠Iām sorry I havenāt been better.āĀ
āIām sorry we went on assuming you didnāt care,ā Bobby said.Ā
āAfter what happened when you were a kid ⦠it makes sense you would think we didnāt want you around. We could have made more of an effort too.āĀ
āYou have,ā Annabeth said. āBobby, it meant everything to me that you invited me to your wedding.āĀ
āYeah of course. You should have been in the bridal party. Iām ⦠Iām really sorry.āĀ
āNo, no, itās okay,ā Annabeth promised.Ā
Annabeth initiated a hug, and soon, there was a Chase sibling group hug in his living room. They pulled their father in when they caught him lingering on the outside.Ā
āHowād you do that?ā Esther asked.Ā
āMirror, empathize, validate,ā Percy told her. āWorks every time.āĀ
Both partners took out their phone and made a note.Ā
āExcuse me, Iām gonna go check on my kids,ā Percy said.Ā
Poor Nella had been thrown way off her groove by the yelling and the interruption of the movie.Ā
Percy found her a sad little lump under her blankets, Toothless still in her arms.Ā
āSheās not talking,ā Sophia said.Ā
āDo you want a hug, baby girl?ā Percy offered. From under the covers, Nella nodded. Percy pulled back the blankets and scooped her up. She wasnāt crying, but she wasnāt talking either.Ā
āLetās go finish the movie?ā Percy offered. āIf the coast is clear?ā Sophia stuck her head out the door, saw everyone sitting, and nodded to Percy.Ā
They snuck back into the living room. Nella reached for Annabeth immediately, but Rosie was in her arms.Ā
āHere, Iāll take her,ā Bobby said, reaching for the baby so Annabeth could take Nella.Ā
āThank you,ā Annabeth said, willingly handing her over.Ā
āI told Nella we could finish the movie,ā Percy said as he gently put Nella in Annabethās lap, implying that the option was watch it or get out.Ā
The Chase family sat quietly through the end of the movie.Ā
āThat was really excellent!ā Fred said as the credits ran.Ā
āThereās two more,ā Nella told him, her first words since the ones that had sent her mom and uncles into a spiral.Ā
āWell, weāll need to watch them one of these days, huh?ā Fred offered.Ā
Nella nodded.Ā
Bobby and Mathew left after the movie, though, and Fred took it as his cue to go back to his hotel too. Bobby finally handed Rosie back, and Annabeth rested her on her playmat to keep her arms free for goodbyes.Ā
Alone finally, Annabeth pulled Percy in close and broke down in sobs.Ā
āMommy? Itās okay,ā Sophia said, trying to comfort her.Ā
āIt is okay,ā Annabeth promised. āMommy is just having some big feelings.āĀ
āCan I give you a hug?ā Sophia offered.Ā
Annabeth nodded, and leaned down to let her daughter give her a comforting hug.Ā
āIām okay, I promise,ā Annabeth said to her girls.Ā
āWhat made you sad?ā Sophia asked. She had plenty of fights with Nella, and they never made her quite this emotional. The little girl couldnāt seem to understand why her mom was so upset about a fight with her brothers.Ā
Annabeth took a deep breath. āIām not sad,ā she told Sophia and Nella, āIām really, really happy that you two have the best, nicest Daddy in the world.āĀ
Percy smiled. āAw shucks,ā he said.Ā
āHe is the best Daddy!ā Sophia said. āNo need to cry about it.āĀ
Annabeth laughed through her tears. āIf we feel like we need to cry, then we can cry,ā Annabeth reminded her. āCrying isnāt a bad thing.āĀ
āYou cry a lot,ā Sophia said. āSo does Daddy.āĀ
Percy shrugged. āItās because weāre so full of love.āĀ
āIām so full of cheese,ā Sophia said.Ā
āNalla,ā Annabeth said, opening her arms to the younger girl. Nella went in for a big hug. Annabeth checked on her, getting a few promising head nods that she was okay, even if she still didnāt really have words. āYou know that you didnāt do anything wrong, right?ā Nella nodded. āAnd you know youāre not in trouble?ā Another nod. āCan you show Mommy what you want right now?āĀ
Nella walked Annabeth into the kitchen and pointed at the covered tray of cookies.Ā
āOkay,ā Annabeth said, handing her one and Sophia another. Olivia had walked herself into her room to keep napping during the fight, but she seemed to sense food distribution and emerged, immediately asking Percy for uppies and cookies, which he was happy to provide.Ā
āNow what?ā Percy asked, Olivia still in his arms.Ā
āCuddles?ā Annabeth asked.Ā
āMommy needs cuddles!ā Sophia announced. āTo the couch! Daddy, she needs juice and snacks! Mommy, what movie do you want to watch?āĀ
Percy put Olivia down with the other girls on the couch and watched her get cookie crumbs just about everywhere. That would be a clean up job for tomorrow, Percy decided.Ā
Annabeth clicked the remote and started How To Train Your Dragon Two, and Percy brought her a much needed glass of wine and cheese plate. And an extra plate for Sophia and Olivia, so they'd keep their hands off of their momās food.Ā
His mom had been confused when Percy told her that Grover was coming with him and Annabeth on their cross country journey.
"You know you two don't need a chaperone, right?" She'd asked. Percy appreciated having a cool mom. She was cooler than him, really.
"Yeah, but it's about old times sake," Percy explained. "And he can smell monsters at a distance," he added, "and we need him to rent the car." Grover was thirty. They were not.
"Ah," his mom said, "that makes sense."
Grover's nose ended up being something of a liability. Or at least, a wrench in Annabeth's itinerary. But she was used to Percy and Grover, and, well, even herself, disrupting her own plans.
Annabeth had planned the whole trip of course. Every meal, every motel, every road side attraction she had penned down in her time table. And she'd found some really cool places along the way. There was one night they got to stay in an old train caboose. They were all pretty excited about it.
So it wasn't ideal when Grover yelled: "Stop!" At a volume Percy was tempted to call total pandemonium.
Thankfully that long stretch of county road on a late Sunday afternoon was empty. Percy was able to put on his blinker and pull over fast, while yelling "What? What? What?!" in harmony with his girlfriend.
"Animals in trouble," Grover said, before climbing out of the back.
"Well, let's go," Annabeth said, un-clicking her seat-belt and opening the door. Percy pouted. Their next motel was one of the few places they had the budget for two rooms, and he was hoping to get there sooner rather than later.
But he wasn't one to leave his two favorite people alone with the corn and whatever threat lurked in it. He took the keys out of the ignition and locked the door before following Grover and Annabeth.
Percy heard Annabeth's soft "aww," which mean baby animal close by before he heard the kitten squeaking for help.
And then he heard Grover's enraged: "Who would do this!?"
Percy looked at Annabeth, and saw the little gray kitten climbing her pant leg. She gently pulled it off of her, before cuddling it close.
The single kitten's cry for help was suddenly several kittens all looking to them. Percy counted seven -- no, eight -- no, nine. Nine. All little babies. All looking for help.
Annabeth and Grover looked back at him, and Percy didn't need an empathy link to know all nine were going in their car.
Not that he'd protest at all. He might be a bit burnt out on hero-ing, but kittens didn't count.
Before Percy could even really think, he was taking off his hoodie and gathering as many kittens as he could. Five, it turned out, would fit. Grover did the same. When they got back to the car, Annabeth was behind the wheel, and Percy and Grover were in the back with nine new babies.
"That's all of them, right?" Annabeth asked.
"They said three have already faded," Grover said, sadly. Annabeth looked about ready to cry, "but these are all the rest of them. They're from three litters."
"Poor things," Annabeth said. "We need to take them somewhere, and fast."
They dropped Grover off on the side of the road and drove about a mile up while he checked Google maps and called some other satyrs for help. The last thing they needed was Percy's proximity to a cellphone bringing a chimera down on their nine new babies.
"Good news," Grover said when they picked them back up, "there's a satyr nearby who fosters kittens. He can take them and get them to a vet."
The little gray one had fallen asleep in Percy's lap. It was the same beautiful dusty color as Annabeth's eyes. It had been the first one to call out for help, the brave one who was near the road, who climbed up Annabeth.
"All of them?" Percy asked, scratching the kitten behind its ears.
"Well," Grover said, "he has room for all nine. Unless ..."
Percy met Annabeth's eyes in the rear view mirror.
The gray kitten started purring in Percy's hand. Now he was pretty sure he was going to cry.
"Your friend will make sure they get good homes, right?" Percy asked.
"Yeah, of course," Grover promised. "Of course, you two would be a good home."
"You can't say shit like that," Annabeth said.
"And please, not when she's driving. She's only got her learners permit," Percy reminded Grover, wiping the tears from his own eyes.
"Wait, so letting you drive right now is super illegal?" Grover asked.
"Oh yeah, for sure," Annabeth said. "So don't make me cry."
"As protector of this cross country quest, I am going to need Percy to take over," Grover said. Annabeth put on her turn signal and pulled over.
There wasn't much farther to go to get to the satyr who would take the kittens. But Percy took over driving anyway. The little gray kitten screamed when he tried to move, though.
"She doesn't want you to leave," Grover said.
Percy pulled his arms into his hoodie so that he could turn it around, getting the hood in front. He plopped the kitten in his hood, and she stopped squealing.
"It's a girl?" Annabeth asked.
"That one is," Grover confirmed, petting the kitten between her ears. Percy looked at Annabeth, and he had a feeling they were on the same page. He looked at Grover, and Grover got the memo too. "She's decided you're her dad," he told Percy. Well, that did it.
"Well, good," Annabeth said, "because she's sticking with us."
"Does she have a name for Annabeth?" Percy asked. Nope had named him Alley Boy, so maybe this time she's be the one who --
"Mom, just mom," Grover said.
Annabeth cried for real that time. Percy wiped her tears, kissed her gently, hardly even annoyed that she didn't get a crappy nickname, before saying, "I better get us to this satyr fast, before we end up with nine kittens to take care of."
~
Neil Sapling actually had a very robust kitten room set up, and he seemed completely prepared to accommodate eight new babies into his life. He also made sure the one who had adopted Percy and Annabeth got fed, had food for the road, a litter box, a collar, a carrier, and good bed to sleep in. Although, she did prefer Percy's hood.
"She's a bit dirty," Neil told them, rubbing her down with some no-rinse shampoo quickly, so they could get back on the road. "She's actually a diluted tortie it looks like," he said, pointing to some spots of brown and white on her. "That's a rare coloring! Be careful though, she'll have an attitude."
"She's perfect," Annabeth said.
"Birds of a feather," Percy teased. Annabeth didn't even protest. She just nodded and picked up the little baby.
"Are you okay sticking with us?" Annabeth asked her.
"She said yes," Neil promised. "As long as I promise to find good homes for the rest of them. Which I will. I swear to Pan, your brothers and sisters are taken care of." Their kitten squeaked again. "Alright, she says she's ready to go then."
Percy plopped her in her little carrier, and they said good bye to the rest of the gang.
When they got back in the car, Annabeth took the front seat again, and let the kitten out to sit on her lap.
"Oh my god," she said, looking at the little thing, "we have a cat!"
"Never thought the two most dog people I've ever met in my life would have a cat," Grover said from the back.
"Well, with a lady so perfect, how could we not?" Percy asked, scratching under the baby's chin.
"Is that her name?" Annabeth asked. "Lady?"
"No," Grover said, "she's not a fan."
"Let's get back on the road," Percy said, "and see if we come up with something good."
"Does she have a name?" Annabeth asked Grover.
"She said no, but she'll let you know when she approves."
"Annabeth Junior," Annabeth suggested.
"I might want to name our human daughter that, try again," Percy said. Annabeth turned bright red and smiled, while Grover made a barfing noise in the back.
"What was the name of the cat who lived in your bodega?" Annabeth asked.
"Not sure," Percy confessed. "Everyone just kind of called her 'here kitty kitty,' or 'good girl.'"
"Well, 'good girl' won't work," Annabeth mumbled.
"Too much! I know too much about you both!" Grover said, obviously full of regrets.
Percy just laughed.
After a minute of uncomfortable quiet, Annabeth said, "What about 'Bodega'? Maybe 'Boo' for short?"
"Huh?" Percy said.
"Her name," Annabeth said. The kitten was fast asleep in her lap, purring as she rubbed her belly. "If we called her Bodega, you'd always have a Bodega cat, even our in California."
"I really like that," Percy said with a smile and a warm feeling in his chest. "Of course, it seems like it's up to her," Percy said, nodding towards the kitten.
"What do you think?" Annabeth whispered to her. "Do you like that name? Should we call you Boo?"
The kitten purred louder.
"She likes it," Grover confirmed.
Percy smiled wide and drove on towards their motel with his little bodega cat in tow.

Why do I feel like every cabin has a really big purpose in camp, e.g. hephestus for the swords, athena for strategy, apollo for archery except from the big 3? Like, Leo's always off making something, Will's always in the infirmary, and Annabeth's always practising, but Nico and Percy just kinda walk around without any purpose.
Camp just doesnāt know what to do with them. So they let them do whatever they want. Theyāve never had a Big 3 kid before and they might never again.
some jercy sketches inspired by the lovely ideas @queer-brainrot sent in <33 i debated for ages which versions i wanted to do but i settled on the āshowā ones to explore my jason design a bit more so i hope you enjoy!!
If I ever write a no powers au it is going to be a who dunnit about Zeusās death because literally everyone has a motive and now since everyone is mortal everyone has the means to murder him.
Murder suspects
Athena- Believes that Zeus is running the company inefficiently and if he just listened to her everything would be fixed. Once tried to take over the Olympian Holdings. Her alibi is completely air tight like she knew this would happenā¦
Hades- Zeus once tried to harm his lover. Rival business owners.
Posideon- Extreme brotherly rivalry and also rival business owner.
Apollo- Recently disowned son who has taken his disowning suspiciously well⦠has the medical know how to pull off some interesting stuff. Second most likely to be framed.
Hera- We all know her motive. And you know what she deserves to kill him at this point
Luke- trying to destroy Olympian Holdings for its shady business practices and has his own complicated ties to the Olympian family.
Ares- Recently written out of the will for doing something stupid. Has a gun at all times. Most likely to be framed.
Hermes- Zeusās aid for a ridiculous amount of time with no career advancement. Has info on the other suspects that he is very willing to share. Has recently been in hot water with Zeus over the actions of his son Luke.
Thalia and Jason Grace- Zeusās bastard children who are set to inherit a lot of his money.
I have no idea who the detective would be since there isnāt an unbiased demigod with the intelligence to deal with this mess. Tempted to have the detectives be Percy and Annabeth. Will Solace would also make a great medical consultant.
I agree with the notes that Reyna would honestly be such a great detective but I think the most heinous detective duo would be Reyna and Octavian.
Percy and Annabeth would be in the thick of it. Imagine Poseidon running his business with his three sons and a daughter who are a bundle of chaos in their own right. (Triton trying too hard to run the empire, Percy existing to spite Zeus, Kym who could be motivated to kill them all and Tyson the baby)
This was probably the most disappointing episode so far for me. Still trying to figure out if I didnāt like it because Iām mourning what could have been or if I actually disliked the changes for legitimate reasons.

Chiron and Mr D: now that you've trained at camp for one (1) week it's time for you to embark on a quest to retrieve Zeus' lightning bolt and stop all out war from breaking out amongst the Gods.
I canāt stop thinking about the relationship between Athena and Annabeth.
The Medusa parallels are SO HEART WRENCHING, and the scene where echidna says āthatās what a good mother does; not that you would knowā make me freeze, but I noticed something else that test my heart in two and I canāt get it out of my headā¦
So in the scene with Medusas head and the box where Grover snaps at Percy and Annabeth saying how theyāre were acting was bad he says that THE HAT IS THE ONLY THING ANNABETH HAS EVER HAD TO CONNECT HER TO HER MOTHER! This may not seem like a big thing but hear me out⦠in HOO HER HAT STOPS WORKING
That means by the time sheās 17 she has lost all āconnectionā with her mother through the symbolism of the hat

I got to watch episode 4! Very happy with this episode as a whole even if not a huge fan of certain choices. Kept track of my reactions as I went in notes app and theyāre below the cut.
I love baby Percy. However not a big fan of Sally in this scene. I get that sheās allowed to be frustrated but I donāt think she would hold the fact they paid for the lesson over Percyās head.
Every time I hear forbidden kid all I can think of is CaffeinatedFlumadiddleās Son of Sea Foam.
āI gotta earn it with you tooā Damn I love them so much.
āIt isnāt supposed to work that way.ā I love baby Percyās radicalization. Youāre right you donāt deserve to be treated like that. āPay your Child supportā Percy has been here since the beginning.
āItās everybody.ā oh poor baby Annabeth. I knew the backstory but framing it as her not being a gift hurt a lot.
HELL YEAH!!! PAN MENTION!!! I have been waiting for this since the season started. Iām an unproportionately excited about this.
The police officer scenes made me way too apprehensive. Iām so much more worried about them now given casting.
I am so confused by Echidnas earlier entrance. It feels less cinematic to meet her on the train versus the arch. Thereās no element of surprise either. What was a cute moment of character growth as they visited somewhere Annabeth always wanted to go as they waited. It would be stupid to retreat to the Arch now.
āThis has always been a family storyā I want this overlaid on all the gifsets.
Theyāre really playing into the later themes where the demigods are monsters. Like I thought Percy really only starting to feel that way in Tartarus when faced with Bob. He might have felt bad about being a hero and trying to prove he was nothing like Hercules in TTC but it wasnāt an overarching demigods are the monsters mindset.
Really glad the Chimera didnāt appear as a service dog. Cute little puppy wandering down the corridor is perfect.
Oh so the Arch is a temple. Iām glad they have a reason to go there. I was worried they would go there despite being hunted.
Ugh Iām not a fan of how Athena blames Annabeth for the head.
Fuck Percyās going to jump into the river thinking that heās going to die. Sure he might pray but he wonāt believe it.
Annabeth was going to sacrifice herself like Thalia. She wasnāt going to let a forbidden kid die for her again (and you know she was the one in best fighting shape)
The water grabbing him was so cool. I loved being able to see the concrete below him and then the water reached out for him. āHeās here and heās so very proudā God Iām going to cry.
This tv show is very pro Poseidon. Like yeah itās largely anti-gods but the comparison between Athena and Poseidon this episode had him way on top. Athena was essentially going to let her daughter be killed (which actually lines up with her treatment of Annabeth in MOA, just sending countless of her children to die on an impossible quest and treating it like an honor). Percy talks about not even wanting to pray to his dad and his dad saves him anyway. (Yes I realize last episode had the Medusa stuff but feel like that was less impactful after she tried to kill them.)
Really wish we had the reunion this episode but oh well guess I have to wait for next week.
Because the gaze of Medusa turned all who looked at her to stone, Perseus guided himself by her reflection in a shield given him by Athena and beheaded Medusa as she slept. He then returned to Seriphus and rescued his mother by turning Polydectes and his supporters to stone at the sight of Medusaās head.
