I wish for a better tomorrow that I can shape today
A time I’ve carved out for all of eternities to acknowledge
A pristine existence of order that defies all odds of actualities
A small twinge on my heart strings that disturb my reality
A pause that relieves me of acquired responsibilities
A moment of allowance to let me breathe in this contemplation
A moments notice to warn me of my wrongdoings
A true reflection that casts without the judgement
Perhaps time does not disturb space
Perhaps my conscience can walk free without disturbing your peace
Perhaps things can be changed last minute, of all things contemplated
Perhaps we’re not so different after all...
Maybe we’re one and the same
And maybe my sky is your sky
My grass is as tall as your grass
And acknowledgement of you is also of me
Maybe my love is felt all around, in multitudes
And your pain is also my suffering
Maybe we are more alike than we are different
Maybe we’re one and the same
Maybe I care for you more than I show
Maybe we can change... for the better
Maybe ... “better” is not the goal
“Maybe” is what makes us better
Maybe is the shade that vastly differs from the absolute of black & white
Maybe we’re not absolutely on one side of the spectrum
Maybe is the complexities of every neuron activated
Maybe is the hopeful doting eyes and a fire that can’t be put out in our hearts
Maybe, just maybe, we’re not so different after all
Maybe we’re meant for more than this
