Misunderstood and even maligned by certain groups of people but still undoubtedly beloved charismatic megafauna: wolves, tigers, bears, hyenas, orcas

Often labeled as nuisance but still considered cute pretty much across the board. Plenty of love for those species overall: Possums, raccoons, bats, bees, coyotes

Average person probably dislikes these critters but many will leap to their defense as well! These species get tons of hate but still have ardent fan clubs out there: pigeons sharks snakes rats vultures

Hated even by many "animal lovers"/Sometimes it seems like people love to hate them. "Kill on sight" mentality is depressingly common: jellyfish wasps scorpions ants slugs spiders

Almost universally reviled due to threat to humans or simple revulsion. Amazing, fascinating species that are very rarely considered beyond human hatred for them!: ticks tapeworms mosquitoes gnats lampreys
