I wonder, do any of you think Trump would change the gun law if his son was killed in a school shooting?
It is said we don’t realize seriousness of stuff until we go through it, so maybe? But knowing Trump, idk
Many of the Senators who were literally shot at in a shooting immediately stated that they were still against gun control, and one of them was pissed (and went on record of being pissed) that he had been forced to be defenseless, since he (and many of his aides) legally was allowed to concealed carry a firearm, but due to a caveat in the rules, was barred from doing it during the shooting’s occurrence.
This is why I hate David Cross. He says he hopes Republican Senators kids die in a school shooting.
I was shot. Did not change my mind on guns. Won’t really change theirs.
I’ve had a gun waved at my head by a (very apparently mentally afflicted)person I found out later was likely an armed robber and horse rustler.
I fed him soup, quietly unloaded the gun he had, and then asked him to leave.
The reason me and my friends weren’t robbed (and I was able to remain calm) was because we had enough firepower combined to overtake a small country.
We literally had someone roasting weenies with a Mosin Nagant (bayonet affixed) next to someone cleaning a SCAR-L.
Being armed likely saved my life, and I didn’t even need to draw the gun. The knowledge of the threat of imminent and very violent and inglorious death was enough.
It’s kind of interesting how so many folks seem to think that politicians should determine which laws they support, laws which affect tens of millions of people, based on whether the politician has been personally affected.
I think it’s less that than the assumption that politicians have no principles. You also see it in the “NRA paid for your votes” talk. That the NRA supports candidates that already support gun rights isn’t even a possibility as far as they’re concerned.
