Listen Zoomer, I appreciate that you live in a blue state big city and have never faced actual gaybashing and as such you’re a spoiled little brat who doesn’t have empathy because you’ve never suffered bad things in your life, but some of us live in the south and in places where LGBT people still aren’t widely accepted and thus know the term you’re using exclusively in the context of a derotagory slur.

Literally no one, not one single person this entire time, has ever said that you cannot use the term to describe yourself or that there’s anything wrong with other people using it (or having it in LGBTQ? Lmao wtf are you on?). Like for someone who wants to talk mad shit about my creative writing degree, you sure lack basic reading comprehension skills. This entire post and “argument” has been people saying “hey maybe don’t use this slur on people who have expressed they don’t wish to reclaim it” and you fragrantly admitting that you a) don’t care about other LGBT people’s trauma and b) don’t actually care about what’s being expressed to you. We’re all just special snowflakes because we don’t agree with you, boo hoo

It’s okay to call people queer when they don’t want you to, but how dare they suggest that it’s okay to call someone a faggot. Right?

For Autism Acceptance Month, I felt the urge to focus on Quinn’s terrible experience with applied behavior analysis (ABA therapy), which many autistic children were/are subjected to. For Quinn, this lead to masking, self harm, and overwhelming stress growing up. Because of her need to protect Claudette from this abuse, she was finally able to understand that her own autism wasn’t a bad thing and taught her daughter the same.

Misinformed and ablest societies are the reason why autistic people call for acceptance rather than awareness. We don’t need a cure, we need understanding and resources that actually help us rather than those that stigmatize and try to change us.

Our system is broken.  It is cruel.  It is dehumanizing, degrading, and it’s vile nature is so, so unnecessary.

We need universal healthcare today in America.  We needed it 40 years ago.  It’s cheaper, it’s simpler, it’s more efficient, it’s more effective and it is so, so, so much less cruel than what we have.

I can’t tell you where or how to activate to help solve this.  There are politicians, groups, and activists pushing for this in so many ways.  I can tell you when, though.

The medical insurance agency is the number one thing standing between people and health care, and even a GOVERNMENT RUN version would be better, because it would remove the PROFIT REQUIREMENT from the system.

Mental health:

Men commit suicide at higher rates.

In my opinion, women are only diagnosed at higher rates for depression because they actually go get assessed.

Male eating disorders are extremely overlooked.

Summary: Men are allowed to like being loved, affirmation, affection, cute things, romance, etc.

Complimenting other people without seeming creepy

Yes, I’m aware of cat-calling and its effects. I’m just saying for other cases.

Domestic violence

Again, although women are victims more often, that doesn’t discount that men can be victims of domestic violence. Verbal, emotional, physical, these are all risks in any relationship.

Asexuality in guys is really taboo

Bi guys are probably more closeted (can’t say for certain because there hasn’t been any hard proof yet)

Transgender and transsexual stuff is a whole other beast in itself, but you better bet there is a lot of discrimination and problems that come with that behemoth. (TERFs aren’t welcome in these parts. Or anywhere.)

Sexual assault

At least 1 in 6 boys is sexually abused before their 18th birthday, and 1 in 4 men who experience unwanted sexual events across their lifetime

I know conviction rates are low for sexual assault (even when it is brought forward and prosecuted), but I’d imagine it’s even lower in these cases if a woman assaults a man.

Up to and including pulling fire alarms.

For Pete’s sake, a lot of y'all can’t even call men’s issues “sexism” because you reserve it for women, even when you’re supposedly talking about those issues. “The effects of toxic masculinity” is at least two steps away, and it still victim-blames men.

And you felt the strange compulsion to mention women are the main victims of Domestic Violence. Followed by saying men “can” be victims.

Is that because you wanted to maintain the Narrative? Or did you think your watchers would yell at you?

And it’s quite possibly not even true. The police have actual policies in many places that assume the dude is guilty, even if he never hit the woman and called them for help. And before you blame that on ‘toxic masculinity’, feminism itself regularly calls abuse (and even more so rape) “violence against women”, by men, and has supported laws to that effect.

You’d 'imagine’? You didn’t do enough research to know that yes, it absolutely is? The UK - a First World country - says women can’t rape, by law, unless they happen to have a penis.

Why would you opine on something when you’re just guessing? And why with the implication that Women Are The Real Victims, again?
