Damian was de-Robin’ed and now he has a Robin solo coming out, Bruce showed his dick in Damned i guess, idek what’s going on with Tim, Nightwing had a glamrock redesign, there were a billion Jokers, Jason and Babs made out, Alfred is either a pirate ghost or a spy, and that’s only what I know from skimming the shelves when I go to the comic store.  

God, idk what I even want to read, but I’ve missed all the Joker events (meh), the various Metals (interested, but too confused to know where to start), all of the Punchline stuff (no thanks), Future State (really interested, but also apprehensive because I have no trust), and whatever the heck has been happening in Nightwing, Outsiders, and Batgirl.  It’s too muuuuuuch.

Who would the “I” be in the song if not Jaskier, though? If it’s not meant to be Jaskier, that’s so confusing because I can’t think of any other explanation. 

Maybe people are reading this as a pop song, where pov can be weird.  There’s a “her” and a “you” and an “I” in “Dog Days Are Over,” too, but idk how any of it ties together.  Who did happiness hit like a train on a track was it Florence was it the Machine?  We’ll never know.

But?? that’s not even subtext, it’s undeniably about Geralt and it’s clearly not meant to be interpreted any other way.  Unless I’m wrong??  I’m so confused, who else could ‘gorgeous garroter’ be referring to?  

Jaskier even says something like ‘is the metaphor landing or is it too cerebral?’ as if he's worried people won’t get it while it’s assumed the audience does.  But apparently not?  Am I the one not getting the metaphor?  If it’s more like...he’s warning an unnamed girl not to be seduced by the female personification of Love, or w/e, that would definitely be more cerebral than his usual.  But...he’s a bard.  It doesn’t make sense for the show to be like “okay all the songs before this one were stories based loosely on reality, but this one’s just a metaphor, hope you caught that even tho we’ve done nothing to indicate the difference.”

I just watched the show, I don’t really ship anything yet so it’s not about that, I’m just genuinely confused.  The song is an almost literal retelling of the events and themes of the episode--it’s like a showtune (which is hilarious btw).  To me, people being like ‘who could this song be about??’ and ‘it’s about Geralt I know it!’ is like people arguing over whether or not “On My Own” is really about Marius.
