So I rewatched the Loki TV show and ngl I don't think Lokius was ever intentional queerbait. I know, I know, stick with me.
It's very clear to me that the creators expected viewers to be invested in Sylki and that Mobius was meant to be Loki's friend, platonically. I don't think that diminishes the bond that Loki and Mobius form and obviously I don't think this is a reason to not ship Lokius. I'm not the biggest fan of Sylki for several reasons and personally think that Lokius has a better dynamic. But I don't think this was an instance of Disney deliberately setting up romantic threads between Loki and Mobius as bait for queer fans. And I'm not like trying to give excuses to Disney of all corporations but I just genuinely don't think Lokius was the intention. Respecfully, people in fandom have a tendency to latch onto two white male characters and imagine them kissing, regardless of what other characters exist or what the story is actually about.
The very last moments of season 2, with Mobius saying that he's going to stay on the timeline for a while so he can "let time pass," letting himself just exist in the domain Loki has created/protected/given to them, and his words echoing throughout reality to be heard by Loki himself, is honestly one of the most tragically romantic things I've ever witnessed. And I don't think it was intentional at all.
