Shit man, this Battle of Twelve Brooks is fucked. I just saw a guy clap his hands together and make tens of flesh sorcerers emerge from a dreadnaught and decapitate imperial wizards faster than the eye can perceive. The camera didn't even go onto him, thats how common shit like this is. My ass is casting firebolt and level 2 erulian bolts. I think I just heard the sword of the citadel yell "VOLLEY" two skyships over. I gotta get the fuck outta here.
The Wizard Seek
"When you seek answers or foresight, who do you go to? A diviner of course!"
In an unassuming, hidden corner of Kabani Court, the Wizard Seek works as a diviner. He spends his nights studying the night sky in the hopes of finding answers to problems yet to occur; during the day, he sleeps off the previous night's research. It is not an ideal life but it is quiet and Seek appreciated the work.
Those that go looking for him will make the connection between the pseudonym he picked during his name cloak ceremony and the school of magic he dedicated his career to--seeking answers to unspoken questions through magic. They failed to see the double meaning though. When Seek was about to take his final exams, he had a crisis of faith. His place at the Citadel felt false and he would be better off elsewhere. Fortunately or unfortunately, Seek was able to work himself round to taking the final exams, barely scrapping passes in the process, and become a fully fledge wizard of the Citadel. The question remained at the back of his mind: where do I belong?
When it came to choosing a new name for himself, Seek still found himself questioning his situation. The doubt had been pushed down, sent to the back of his mind, but it still sought an answer. Other wizards did not have this issue. They had worked to get where they were and had been paid handsomely for it. Seek put his head down, became a diviner within the Research Corps and hoped the question would go away.
Over ten years have passed since Seek graduated and echoes of his doubt still haunt him.

Leitmotifs drive me insane, like I hear *repeated melody that has an association with a person, idea, or situation* and I go *tears up the fucking rug like a dog*

I think that the real fantasy of regeneration isn't living forever, it's being able to die without having to end.
It's the War Doctor being able to hope that after he dies, his next incarnation won't be a warrior anymore. It's Ten praying that when he does go, that new man who saunters away will be the Doctor in a way that Ten doesn't know how to anymore. It's Fifteen hoping against hope that maybe this time, maybe this life, he'll be able to avoid becoming a killer.
It's the ability to look back at your past and your regrets and your failures and say "I was a different person back then" and maybe, just maybe, genuinely believe it.
i was jumanji’d too when i was a kid but no one cared
i was also zathura’d. i got both jumanji’d and zathura’d. Statistical impossibility but sad and true
Can we not victim blame
All three together! You can tell how I grew more settled into the style as I went through them. Look forward to developing it more.
going off wikipedia, in the warriors movie the gang reaches the park and ajax aggressively approaches a lone woman who turns out to be police. on the concept album, during the park at night, the girls are harassed by a policeman in disguise who keeps spitting textbook sexist rethoric at them (you'd look prettier if you'd smile) and ajax decides to take matters in her own hands and beats him up. said policeman is actually played by movie ajax and by attacking him, musical ajax, who's a woman, sets the record straight on a meta-narrative level: she calls out her male counterpart for his violence against a fellow woman, punishes him, avenges her- by doing this, she seeks absolution for her own self.
There's just something so fascinating about the way the Exandrian pantheon has decided to handle the Aeor Situation™ - by electing a few of their kind to be born as mortals in order to infiltrate the city.
The first to bring herself low was Ioun, and I can only imagine how lonely that must have been for her. To feel infinite wisdom creeping into her adolescent mind? To rise through Aeor's ranks knowing what they'd do to her if the authorities discovered the truth of her existence? Waiting, hoping, perhaps even praying that the other gods would follow through with the plan.
Sarenrae has a husband and children as Trist. I can't help but consider the parallels to Liliana Temult, with a 'higher calling' pulling a mother away from her family. The conversations in the temple suggest that she would have been aware of what she was by the time she started her family. Yet she loves them, cherishes them, even knowing that she might not see them again. Will Amaris, Haylie, and Topher learn that Trist is a goddess? Or will that only be discovered when they find their way to her realm in Elysium?
The Matron was once mortal, and she willingly returned to that form in order to help her newfound siblings dismantle the Aeorian threat. Her steward since childhood was Purvan, helping raise and guide her despite his old age. Imagine being a little girl, guarded by the Champion of Ravens himself and his wolven companion, completely unaware of your own divinity until later in life. Imagine the night she woke up, remembering her ascendency, seeing Purvan and recognising him.
And what of the families that gave birth to and raised the four Betrayer Gods? What of the halfling family who watched their precocious daughter scale a fence with far too much ease than it should be? The day the tortle's parents found him crying in pain and tearing at his skin to distract himself from a memory so distant and yet so real? Or Milo, who became a priest, not to follow in the light of the Dawnfather (like his parents may have thought), but to mock his brother even as a mortal?
These gods spent entire childhoods with families and friends, taking refuge from the skirmishes caused by their other siblings. Who, despite those similarities, have very different opinions of humanity, of Aeor, and themselves.

Dame Maggie Smith as Muriel Donnelly The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2015)
I remember watching the first episode of Misfits and Magic on YouTube. I loved it enough to get a subscription to Dropout so I could watch the remaining three episodes of the campaign (the Christmas episode hadn't been announced yet).
It was my introduction to Dimension 20 and, although it wasn't an Intrepid Heroes campaign, it was the best thing to watch first. At that point, it was only four episodes as mentioned and there were only five on-camera personalities so it was more digestible. The fact that it parodied the Harry Potter series helped immensely as well because I grew up on those books so it felt familiar. F*ck terfs too.
I have watched a lot of Dimension 20 content since then and I've started playing D&D thanks to Misfits and Magic so the fact there is gonna be a second campaign in that world has me pumped!
